Its all about the psychological rammifications of immoratlaity on the human mind. Its all a metaphor... it always has been. Its sad to see people take
everything so litteraly, it tells you whos not gonna make it.
I always looked at the immortal aspect of it as a prop to remove the confines of mans law or contemporary consequence. Much like science fiction does
to establish precedent for immersion in the story being presented.
After all, it's not like they cannot die. Just step outside at noon or swan dive onto a picket fence if eternal life becomes unbearable.
