I do not know if there is already a topic about this,
But when i was searching the net for more info i came on this.

Look At This Pic

Doesn't look this picture familliar with something on the dollar bill.
Could it be that the jehovah Witnesses are also a part of a conspiracy.
who can tell more?

[edit on 4-8-2004 by Hiawatha]

And there is something else.
jehovah witnesses developed some technology for transelating documents.
But did you know they trade this technology with the american government for a sattelite in space for their own use

hiawatha,
you are so vague

what picture?
what technology for translating documents?
and what texts do you want me to read in the U2U you sent me?

Well that link didn't help any. I was raised JW and let me tell you they want nothing to do with ANY government with the exception of paying their taxes. If you want a seperation of church and state, this is the perfect example.

Sorry intrepid but I mean not ofense,

I remember the Jehovah Witnesses back home and I can tell you they are very persistent, my mother used to go so upset when they will come early in the morning knocking on the doors.

Having grown up as a Jehova's Witness, I have to say it is just a religion. I dont practice in the religion, and dont agree with 99% of their views, but it is nothing more than a religion. They want nothing to do with the government, because the government is corrupt (as with all governments, not just that of the US), and they belive that it is somehow, worshiping false idols, which is bad
.

Anyhow, if you have any questions about it, I may be able to help, but I have to say that I have not even gone to a "meeting" for almost 7 years. But, my mother still practices, and I could get answers from her. U2U me if you have any questions, and I will see if I can answer them. I would say to just post here, but I will most likely lose the thread by then.

No offense taken, I left almost 20 years ago. Very strict life to live, I couldn't do it. The reason they're persistent is because they believe they have the truth and it is their obligation to share it with everyone, not like they wouldn't like to sleep in Saturday as well.

They are very persistant, but like you said, it is mostly because they feel that it is their duty to inform you of the Truth, and nobody wants to be bothered at home. If they just gave up, they would never "reach" anyone.

Actually, the people I know from the JW church, are some of the kindest, and most honest people I have ever met. Willing to do anything from each other. I remember one time, a woman in the local congregation had a terrible car accident and her husband died. Two nights later, her house burned to the ground. The entire congregation got togther one weekend and built her a brand spankin new house, free of charge. Not a lot of people would do that kind of thing for their friends, let alone someone they hardly know.

Anyway, like I said, I dont go along with 99% of their views, but they are not some kind of "conspiracy"... I dont think that your information about them trading technology to the government for sattelite use is correct either. I cant see them having any involvement with the government, even on the simplest level.

What exactly does a "Jehovah's Witness" believe? And where did they get that name from?

They get their name from the Bible. The word God, I believe was substituted for the word Jehovah in the King James version of the bible. The word Jehovah is the most accurate translation. In fact, I believe enven the King James version referrs to God as Jehovah 2 times. I cant remember the scriptures. Anyway, Jehovah is the closest translation for the Hebrew word that is translated to God in English.

Jehovah is the English/latin translation of the Hebrew word Yahwah. Witness is self explanitory.

Thats the word I was trying to think of, although I believe it is Yahweh. I could be wrong though.

Knock, Knock...

Their a religion, and from what I hear, it's a pain in the ass to be part of them.

well, i,m not attacking the people in this religion.
I have been a jehovah witness myself.
And they are good people with a good heart.

But When you look at the picture on this site it looks excactly the same as the pyramid on the dollar bill.
At the bottom there are the slaves and at the top the all seeing eye.

And something els is that when you become a JW you're name gets registered at the headquarters of the Jehovah Witnesses and yes by the government.

And that satelite i'm speaking about.
when i was a kid we went to a congres of JW's and there was told that they made a satelite connection between the USA and Netherlands for a live speech from someone at the top of JW in america.
but before that began there was told at stage how they did get this satelite.
And they tradedit for this tech or program whatever, that could trancelate all languages to the language you desired with a click of the mouse.
very high tech for that time(+/- 20 years ago)

again I'm not saying they are bad people. but who says the top isn't.

Jehovah witnesses has become a very strong alternative for the Spanish community and Spanish countries, here in the south the Spanish community is accepting the Jehovah witness over the Catholic church.

the JWs are nut cases. ask any of them about the 17,000 people. the "this generation shall not pass" ask them about the significance of ww1 to them. ask them who will get into "heaven" ask them about blood transfusions.. these guys are brainwashing nut cases.

oh one more question for them. why dont any of their churches have windows? not even a stained glass one. just a plain brick building... i dont care what they do, they dont bother me personaly, but my daughters mother and her family are practicing witnesses. she has said numerous times, that if , god forbid, something was to happen to our girl and she needed a blood transfusion, she wont allow it. apparently "jehova" doesnt approve of that for some reason.

if you need answers to any of my questions or feel im wrong, please let me know.......

The reason that their churches, or Kingdom Halls as they call them, dont have any windows, is because it is a distraction. They want everyone who goes to church there to be as focused as possible on their teachings, and the "sermon" of the day. Windows and artsy decor tend to distract people. The reason they dont accept blood transfusions is that, in their belief system, the body is a temple to Jehovah. Smoking etc. is degrading, and disrespectful to the body, and therefor to Jehovah. By taking someone elses blood, they believe, you are taking their sins, and "evidence" of their personal habits.

Example. If you take a blood transfusion from a person who is a smoker, it would be, to them, the same as smoking them selves, and since that is disrespectful to their body, and to Jehovah, they refuse it. They wouldnt be "excommunicated" for taking a blood transfusion, but it is considered a sin.

Im sorry, but if my daugher has been in an accident and lost a major amount of blood, no religion is going to keep me from doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to keep her alive. However, since her mother has primary custody of her, I may not have a choice. Its a ridiculous belief. Not eating a certain meat, or praying "X" amount of times a day..what ever..its your business. however when a kids life is on the line and a "belief" that her mother has, might jeprodize her life. well thats just ignorant, and around here we deny that sort of thing...

I agree 100%, and that is one of the reasons I no longer practice in the church, among many others. I just cant see puting the beliefs of a church above the life of a child.
