Next Step in Human Evolution - Social Evolution

Humans have a long history of conflict and cooperation in our social evolution.

Tribe formed so people could help eachother out, but then tribes faught over hunting grounds.

Then city-states formed to out do any tribe. Quickly tribes died out and gave way to other city-states so that other people could compete. And this is how we have been stepping up throughout time, states, countries, and now International agreements and even the EU, a governing body above the level of country.

Our social evolution drives us to conform to a society and create the largest society we can. While driven by conflict, protection, and economy. one does not neccesarily need an opponent to develope a large society.

Does this mean we are socially evolving toward a Global Society and Government? All historical trends show that while nations may come and go it is human nature to form larger and stronger societies.

What will become of individuals and subgroups if we eventually become a single globe under one set of rules? What form of organization would we have? Democracy? Capitalist? Socialist? Monarchy? Republic? Theocracy?

All of them have flaws. Could any of them last?

What happens if a global government collapses from within? Are humans doomed to hit a barrier where the world globalizes then breaks up again over and over?

Personally I'm going to read up on social evolution, while I do i'd love some input on the subject.

I think a move towards globalization is more evidence towards de-evolution than anything else!

people blindly accept the concept of globalization without recognizing any of it's major flaws. just look at NATO and the growing NAFTA. These have proven to be horrible to the average person. god only knows what will happen when they continue to grow. what's worse is that there doesn't appear to be anything we can do to stop it.

I'd say yes, we are evolving toward a Global Society, but one that is termed the New World Order, as envisioned by the Elite.

Because of technology, we are all going to be plugged into a worldwide framework where we are monitored 24/7, via a microchip and other biometric systems. We will probably lose our individuality in favour of a group-think mode, where we all think the same, and punished if we don't conform to the people who make the rules. Thought police. I think everything will be ruled by the Government, businesses, etc.

This would probably not last long becauser eventually we'd have the rebel groups who will go underground to fight the New World Order. It would not last because it is based on Centralization of control over other people's lives into one Government.

When everything begins to collapse, there will be a lot of fighting between the people and the system of control. The chips, the retina-scans, our very biology will be hooked up, no privacy. Eventually, people are bound to wake up in such a situation. At that point, maybe a lot of societies will break up with nuclear wars and such.

The only way a global society can manage is if everything is based on personal freedom and an understanding of spirituality.

Are we heading to a global catastrophe? I'd say yes, if we don't change our ways.

Thats a very good point u bring up. I think this has to be taken very seriuosly. If evolution does encourage social groups then why is it that none of the options you gave can ever work. I mean we have tried(we as in mankind) communism and that didnt work out. We are living in a capitalist society right now and i dont see that coming to a bright end. If we cant fit as a society "right" or 'left" then wat the hell is left if those are the only two ends. Are we suppose to be...centre???.. How would that work??...

Maybe we just have a completely wrong idea about how we are suppose to socialize and conform to a group. The problem is that there are too many different social practices and we jsut cant find a wat to conform. We cant even compromise.

Something doesnt add up. If we are destined to form social groups as history has shown, then why are we following a dead end road???
