This is actually pretty old. I showed this to some of my co workers last year, and I was laid off in April.

This video of a spectator at a football match invading the pitch, thus being set upon by four police who are clearly using excessive force to arrest the man, which then provokes a massive response from the football players and other members of the audience, made me remember something that I read a long time ago in the book "Ten Days That Shook The World" [illustrated hardback edition] by the American author John Reed. In that book there is a picture on page 65 where in we see "A mixture of soldiers and students prepare to ambush police near the Moika Canal Petrograd, October 1917". What I am wondering is that in the USA things might get to be such that if police and military brutality gets to be so bad, then who can the people turn to for justice ? My opinion is that the situation in the USA is already so bad that it seems to me inevitable that things are going to be like as occurred in Nazi controlled Germany and the occupied lands that they subjugated. As all of you know the Imperialists who control the USA already have the more than 130 FEMA camps set up to detain and murder vaste numbers of the population. However my thought is that instead of using the FEMA camps to commit the genocide that way, they are going to provoke a nuclear war, where in we all go up in smoke. They will survive of course because they have their DUMB deep underground military bases.

First of all I had already stated that some of the people did go to far...yet..you want to condemn me for sticking up for a guy who obviously was no serious threat, getting clubbed to the head.

I did not say your family would be running on a field now did I?

But are you so sure someone you love will not find themselves in a position someday, that they did not instigate, but because of circumstances ,and authority believing them to be some kind of threat, won't endure harsh and unjust punishment?

NO..you can't..and if you want to make the mob seem like the bad guys here..have at it.

I for one would love to have the first few guys that ran out there, as family members of mine, and I'd be damn proud to tell others that they were family.

Fantastic for you. I didn't condemn you. I just responded with my own opinion, but decided you would fit a generic role, based on your opinion.
I just copied and pasted my response, because you will most likely only take from it what you want anyways. Hot air is hot air, right. Mine or yours.

And YES I can say that. As easily as you say I CAN'T. My family would not put themselves in a position where they could be misidentified as a threat. And IF they were, they would comply with orders. That is how it is supposed to work. The details can get worked out later.

This guy brought on the situation, did not comply and force was used to obtain compliance. Inappropriate, yes. But nonetheless, the next step, whether you like it or not.

Sure there are rogue a$$ hole cops. Of that there is NO question. ONE of the reasons I am no longer a law enforcement officer.(oooh here comes the animosity probably) But I don't disagree. What can we do? Beat up all the bad ones? Mob them? How, really is that the answer. They are people too. ALL people are corruptible.

Whatev. I'm out of hot air.

No, that guy who ran across the field with a sign was an idiot. He deserved everything he got and knew full well he was not meant to do that.

The facts here are that this is just a thread for people to bash police, and why is that? 9 times out of 10 is because they are the ones who feel wronged by them because they have been in trouble before. You are calling me judgmental but at the same time taking sides by condoning what the violent thugs did to the police. Pot calling kettle black?

First off they were not cops, but since you bring up cops, what concern is it of mine what they get paid or how hard their job is. Try being a ditch digger- I still can't attack people without risk of being attacked by someone in the crowd myself.

Law is not the words printed on a dead tree with dead ink miles away from where the situation is. Law is what we say it is. We being me and the man with the knife. The crowd and the security officers in this case and we decided what was right and wrong. That's the law of the jungle.

To make matters worse he resisted arrest and if I was the cops or security detail there, I would certainly have done the same thing. Sorry Vitchilo but sometimes cops should be violent and this is one of those times.

Then you could have also been on the receiving end of some angry mob justice and got what you deserved.

It is never ok to initiate brutal violence against someone resisting arrest for a very minor and non-violent crime. Especially when you already have them on the ground with several pigs on top of them! If several of you are not strong enough to peacefully restrain him then you are not fit for the job.

A lot of people hate the police and are paranoid of them for no good reason. They have a batton and gun for a reason I might add. If you follow the law then most likely you will not fall a victim to them. If you don't like the laws then complain about them to your government.

If some crazy person enters the stadium during a match and causes the match to be interrupted, then the cops/security have a right to escort him out and/or arrest him. If he/she refuses arrest, then the cops/security have the authority to use limited force to restrain him.

My final comment is for those who feel it was justified to use excessive force for one who is resisting arrest. Resisting arrest is a natural response since being arrested is not a natural condition. I don't know how it is in the rest of the world but in America, within reason you have a little known right to resist arrest if you fear for your health and safety.
some examples

www.dmcantor.com...

mississippicriminaldefenseblog.com...

I've got resisting arrest overturned by simply stating that for all I know it could have been a criminal in a cops uniform and with a cops car. The judge asked what are the odds? And I told him to ask the families of the victims it's happened to. Further I refused to pull over my vehicle until in a well lit area with a large crowd- despite having several officers in pursuit. The charge was dropped

When you are being beaten fight or flight kicks in and if you fight back or attempt to flee, law cannot overturn instinct which is the law of nature and nature's God. Resisting arrest alone does not justify excessive force. What's more these were security officers in the video and so the law of not resisting arrest and it's defenses are not applicable here. A mall cop can detain you but he cannot use force or arrest you - short of citizen's arrest. Same goes for these rent a guards. They can only defend themselves and force must equal the threat. This is basically a case of citizen on citizen, not citizen on law enforcement.

thats a bunch of BS ..and I'm sorry but there are times when security and police are overly VIOLENT ...and that is exactly why this whole fiasco was brought on by that mob.

All of them watching the security hit this guy over and over with the baton were just criminals with hatred for men in uniforms?.......get a grip..do you realize how foolish you sound?

I won't reply to such nonsense anymore ....you've shown us what you are. A close minded judgemental person, who dares say that who ever criticizes a person in uniform is because they have had problems with the police.

Wow we sure have a bunch of anarchists here...........

If you break the law you SHOULD be held accountable, just like the IMF chief who sexually assaulted the maid in his hotel room.

Sorry, take your cop hating BS elsewhere fellows.
If cops can't use force anywhere then we might as well take the law into our own hands and he/she who has the best weapon will win. When I purchase a ticket to see manchester united versus arsenal I expect to see soccer/football, not some clown running the field like a total jackass.

I am not a cop hater..and if you want to lump all the people who are against excessive violence by the police as cop haters , then I'm afraid you look like the shallow one, who brown noses the police.

I have said in a few posts on this thread..that I feel sorry for the tough job they have at times...but that doesn't excuse excessive force.

Cops and security have a job to do. You and me are in no position to know if they used excessive force because we did not partake in the action. He may have resisted arrest or he might have called them some offensive names. We simply do NOT know!

I have had many encounters with police and I learned if you treat them with respect, then they will treat you with respect as well. In fact I should have gotten traffic tickets twice(one for speeding and one for passing a red light) and drove away with warnings each time.

Some cops are bad while most are good I don't like many of the laws but that is the politicians fault and has nothing to do with cops doing their job. In other words the heart of the issue is misplaced anger and it reflects poor on society.

Also, this is not a 'current event'. And those arent cops, they are security guards. And that's an angry, drunken soccer mob. not heros.

still, fun video
