As would I, although mishigas has seen fit to attack me and stray off the topic of this thread for some strange reason. You have been more than honest and fair with your answers. I wish a few more like you would chime in.

/TOA

Attack you? Where? Who made the remark about the English language? And where did I stray off topic? I'd really like to know.

Starred your response - I think you put some seriously true but easily ignored facts in people's faces. I wonder how many of them are gonna trot out something asinine in response and some more birther nonsense.

Thanks.

Unfortunately...judging from past experience...they will just ignore the facts and not respond. It is standard operating procedure...they jump on the topic early...attack and spew vitriol...then disappear when facts are brought into the discussion.

reply to post by OutKast SearcherI'll tell you why they leave, because they know that anyone who would vote for that skinny socialist is either stupid, lazy or both. As bad as Bush was, this guy is ten times worse for the future of this country. The MSM tells me that six out of ten favor Barry. I say that's pure horsesh*t ! I dont know one 'employed' person who would vote for him. NOT ONE!

Believe me, you're wasting your breath. They are only seeking attention. I spent time refuting many 'facts' they stated, and guess what? They didn't debate my arguments. Instead, they cry Foul! and accuse me of personal attacks and vitriol. Then, after they lay that groundwork, they expect you to debate with them.

I've asked for examples of my personal attacks; they go silent. How can we improve communication when they play the sullen, sulking victim?

New definition of vitriol: a fact that a lib finds too painful to accept. The phrase "You can't handle the truth!" comes to mind.

All joking aside, some 'facts' put forth are so vague that they are un-debatable. I mean, how can you argue with a statement like "Obama implemented many programs to help out the middle class"? WHAT programs? But don't ask, because you'll be accused of vitriol and personal attacks.

My mistake was falling for the ruse. I honestly thought this thread was an attempt to discuss the pros and cons of voting for Obama, when all it was was a pep rally for BHO. But that is their right, to author such a thread. I have the choice of playing by their rules or leaving.

I wish them good luck.

It has become painfully obvious to me that the only people who support this nut fall into two groups: The first, all the indolent, lazy, welfare loving louts. Second, all the unqualified, overpaid, underworked bureaucrats who administer the programs they sponge off of. Hardworking, taxpaying citizens are now in the minority.

Wrong on both accounts - have a master's (makes me not stupid) and I work two jobs (makes me not lazy). I'm neither, and this is specific proof refuting your general statement. FAIL!

As bad as Bush was, this guy is ten times worse for the future of this country. The MSM tells me that six out of ten favor Barry. I say that's pure horsesh*t ! I dont know one 'employed' person who would vote for him. NOT ONE!

Now you know one employed person who favors Barack Obama. MSM may have its own corporate policies, for this kind of agreement, there is either truth or a convoluted scheme to keep things from us. Considering we are both on ATS, we can have opposing opinions. I don't think you're stupid for having them, but I think you fit the bill for resorting to juvenile attacks in order to refute something that for the most part has been sharp but civil.

Why do you insist on trying to claim yourself as some aggrieved minority. You're struggling - I get that. We all are, unless you have a silver spoon. But, your anger at having a rough part in life doesn't justify lambasting people who disagree with you into a subordinate, second-class state.

Honestly, I sponge no program, I work hard, and I support Obama. What gives you the right to marginalize me for disagreeing with you? Your anger leads you to the dark side, and there are no milk and cookies there....

It was troubling to me that so many people fell for his act and voted for him in '08. Some voted b/c they honestly thought he would bring good change. Some b/c he was black. Face it - he got about 95% of the AfroAmerican vote, and some voted for him out of white guilt. But his suspicious past (Wm. Ayers, J. Wright, etc.) was ignored in their moment of glee. I'll admit, McCain was not the ideal opponent, but much better than Obama.

And what did they get? A socialist fool that is bankrupting America, and gives them such jewels as Obama's new Mission for NASA: Reach out to Muslim world

We hear so much that he "passed healthcare". Really? Then why are so many of his cronies getting waivers that exempt them from having to follow the same rules as the rest of us?

Oh well. C'est la vie, eh my friend?

I agree completely with OS in this post. Right now, I plan to vote for Obama. But that could change and it could change to Ron Paul, depending on what happens in the next 1.5 years. Oprah as a VP wouldn't change my vote, however. I think she's got a fantastic mind for business and finance.

One thing about Obama's agenda is I believe that it will take two terms to fulfill many of his ideas and I have no reason not to want to continue to support him to do so. He has done a pretty good job, considering what he took over when he got there and the pressures he deals with behind the curtain. He knew it was going to be a big job and take a long time. I have patience because I see the economy moving in the right direction.

I also LIKE Obama.

There's a laundry list of things I disagree with him on, like the Patriot Act, but basically I support his policies and positions. I also appreciate his friendliness with the rest of the world and his efforts to bring people together instead of divide them.

The title says "Convince us", but I don't want to convince anyone. To each his or her own.

So your limited personal view trumps facts and larger sampling???

Why not go back to my original reply in this thread and dispute any of the facts I laid out...instead of just creating a fantasy based on your limited personal view.

You have not once responded to my post.

If you feel like you can refute anything I said...please do so and I will be happy to discuss it with you.

Don't expect me to step into the middle of a conversation you are having with someone else.

I look forward to your response...if it ever comes.

Ah yes...creating more fantasies to support your world view.

Everyone is stupid if they don't agree with you

Like I said...feel free to refute the facts I laid out in my post.

Well, I have to agree with your second point: all those crony czars that Obama appointed so that he could bypass the regular confirmation process....what a bunch of losers, including those like Van Jones, “Special Advisor for Green Jobs”.

You know, all those millions of 'green jobs' that the $787 billion stimulus were supposed to create.
