I was in Sydney this morning and picked up a free paper called The Epoch Times and found this write up to be of great interest.

The write up is about an ancient Huntsman spider preserved in opaque amber and has been unveiled using new computer-imaging technology with the findings published online in the latest issue of the journal Naturwissenschaften.

The remains of the almost 50-million-year-old spider are approximately 2 millimeters wide by 2.5 millimeters high, and belong to the oldest known huntsman spider on record.

Take a look at the 3D footage by clicking below, the piece of film only lasts for 2 minutes, but well worth a look.

Awesome post!

It's interesting to see that the features are almost identical near 50 million years later for these critters - could have told me that was 3D imagery of a modern unknown spider and I'd have not been able to tell..

Tiny little bugger tho!
