S & F Bare.

This one disgusted me pretty bad. That "mother" should be shot.

As far as the kid initially agreeing to the plan, well with a role-model like her mom I think that's easy to understand. The girl agreeing or not has no bearing anyway; she isn't of age to give consent. That's why 13 year olds are called kids.

I would take odds that this is not the first time her mother has offered her up for prostitution via oral sex and such. I bet this wasn't the first time mommy dearest used her.

I hope that girl can get some help after being abused like that, but she may be too damaged to have a shot at a normal healthy life. Her mom should never be allowed to contact her or lay eyes on her again.

How sick is that!
How money hungry do you need to get to sell your own daughter. That a thought like that can even occur; "I need money, I know i just sell my daughters body".
Humankind, a weird bunch indeed.

Really, I mean sell your spleen lady, or something right?
This is just unfrikkingbeleivable!!!!

Honestly we are all sick in the minds.

Obviously we all know that selling the virginity of your 13 year old daughter is wrong. But.....it gets murkier and murkier after that............

Regardless of what any of you will admit in this thread, or what any of us know is consciously moral and right, we all still had that little reaction when we first read the article. You can deny it if you want, but the reason this is such a hot topic, is because none of us are entirely immune to the attraction. Sure, the vast majority of us can tell right from wrong, and we quickly overcome biology with reason and civility, but the fact is, we are all animals first. If we were not, then the topic would not be as popular and as heated as it is.

We all clicked on this thread the minute we saw the headline. We all wanted to know how old she was, and how much the mother was trying to get. We all jumped to conclusions and battled down our own inner demons, and then we began to criticize everyone else.

There is no black and white line when it comes to sex. When is it ok to sell? Many people think prostitution should be legal for adults.

When is it ok to consent? For some it is 18, others 17, others 16, it is different from state to state in the US. When you look around the world, it becomes ok at 15 or 14, so when is it really ok?

Unfortunately, we already condone "sex for money". Look at the porn industry. What is the real difference between porn and prostitution? I honestly see no real difference. So, if the mother had produced her 18 year old daughter's porn debut would anybody care?

Would it be ok for a 13 year old to have sex in a post-apocalyptic event where re-population was needed, I bet morals would suddenly change if that were the case today.
Back in the day, 13 year olds were probably having babies, simply because of natural hazards that decreased lifespans. It is amazing how societies change their views and morals based off of what century we live in, instead of basing it off of science and the needs of our species. I am not saying I agree with what this woman did, but as you say, we are animals first. I just have trouble justifying certain morals society forces upon us when human nature is in play and things we have done for thousands of years and is a natural tendency.

In my opinion, part of the reason why teen sex is such a issue is because society refuses to look at the science involved. Our society has evolved and developed faster than what we as a species have and as a teenager, that is when our bodies are in its prime to reproduce. Now society has to create laws/morals against something that as a species, we are driven and compelled to do....reproduce.

It is an exercise in futility to try and stop things like this, but this is where education comes into play. Sure, our society does not have a need for babies having babies, but we do need to understand why it is such a problem. The best solution is education, teach people that this why during teen years sex is so prevalent, and provide tools and knowledge on how to circumvent our natural tendencies, instead of demonizing it.

Who knows, given enough time, our bodies may evolve to the point where our species see that reproducing is no longer effective as it was at such an early age, and then change our bodies so that we do not develop sexually until maybe early twenties. Just saying, nature does not put an age on things, humans do. Just a theory.

Any reasonable chance she's just a typical Mormon and they don't want to say it?

Very low class statement and completely uncalled for. I am "Mormon" this is as unacceptable
for me and anyone of my religion as it is for you.

Are you subtley suggesting that religion as a whole is beyond reproach or satery (sic) or only your own (or that of your friend(s) that happens to be of faith 'X')? C'mon. Fair is fair. Cults have well-established behavioral patterns.

Whom did you disparage today? I'm sure I can find out with a search. Will your purity withstand scrutiny and not reveal hypocrisy? What generalizations do you apply on a daily basis in other subject matters?
