To me that sums it up - the RAF didn't think it was anything suspect or out of the ordinary so there was no presence needed.

Had it been anything truly bizarre and unknown, I'm sure there would have been at least one of two helicopters doing a reccie.

There was a conspiracy going around that the Royal family were aliens, and that Diana was murdered by a hired assassin because she knew the Royals BIG secret.
