Actually if you look at the Red Forest on the outskirts of Pripyat (just outside chernobyl) the radiation levels are certain to kill any person, but the flora/fauna of that area are thriving (due to the lack of human disturbances funnily enough lol). So my humble opinion is that the wildlife will be fine, but we won't. (Just look up Pripyat on wiki and u should find it)

Actually newer studies have shown that such reporting were far too optimistic. Instead the truth about the wildlife around Chernobyl is much more depressing.

"Researchers say they had compared animal populations in radioactive areas with less contaminated plots and found that some were nearly completed depleted of animal life.

"There are areas with an abundance of 100 animals per square metre," Moller said. "And then there are areas with less than one specimen per square metre on average; the same goes for all groups of species."

Also animals from the area.........

" had more deformities, including discoloration and stunted limbs, than normal."

The youtube video is down. This is not good news. We may not feel the effects right now but guaranteed we will a few years or decades down the road.

Reminds me of the movie Children of Men.

Just to note, to the person who said for Japan to print money like the US, they can't, since the US is the global currency and that's why we can do it, but soon I doubt we will be since printing money like we are is why Britain is no longer th global currency.

Question, could this radiation possibly be affecting the major storms creating these massive tornadoes in the US? Or does it affect storms at all other than radiating the rain?

Did anyone notice that the graph says instrument failure? Also, is there a way to search within a thread?

But the status says instrument failure - so is the reading shown actually correct?

Noone knows yet i hope we can get a confirmation on this reading people are saying there are reports of flame shotting out of the intact building.... That cant be good; this may also help bolster the report of insane amounts of radiation from the reactor.

The MO of these incompetent managers shows that they would NOT publish something inflammatory that they thought could be construed as incorrect.

There was a big drop for two days right before hand, then the levels went back to where they were before.

Non story, stop posting part of the graph and trying to make a story where none exists.

It is RIGHT THERE ON THE GRAPH, that is NOT nonstory IT IS A HUGE STORY, it shows the magma is moving, the reaction will often RE-IGNITE even IF it goes down for a while, it shows THE SENSOR IS WORKING, it show they continue to lie !

NOW HERE IS A REALLY GOOD ONE FOR YOU PEOPLE WHO SAY, its just a BAD sensor.

They claim to have restored water cooling to the spent fuel pools, and the link below shows the temps for those pools. I wonder if there is any fuel left in those pools ? Well, there must be in #1 because they show NO TEMP AT ALL !
atmc.jp...

Now THIS ONE SHOWS, "INSTRUMENT FAILURE", yet they show no temp, no data, what so ever.

So, WHY do they show NOTHING HERE, yet in the #1 reactor temp with "INSTRUMENT FAILURE", they show a temp with data.

IT IS OBVIOUS WHY, THEY MUST SHOW IT BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT IT IS GENERALLY CORRECT, but they will not show the spent fuel pools temp for #1 BECAUSE IT WOULD VERIFY THE CORE TEMP !!!

They have engineered a shadow of a doubt where they can still show you the most important data, this way they can not be accused of HIDING THE TRUTH, MEAN WHILE THEY HIDE THE TRUTH FROM YOU !!!!!!
