I don't think you began with a good explanation...people may never have heard of St Peters Veronica. I haven't. And what veil, are you talking this is a photo of whatever the veil is or the statue i found when i looked up St Peters Veronica?
You gave a link but left it unclear what it is of not a photo to show what the image is on or anything. very confusing to me.

I don't think they have proved anything about the Shroud. I'm not a religious fella, but as I recalled it took forever to get them to damage the Shroud taking a piece for carbon dating. It showed it wasn't as old as they thought then they learned that they just by unfortunate chance took a piece from a part of the shroud that had been repaired and so it was off. As far as I know they haven't taken a piece from another part of the Shroud yet and the Vatican isn;t about to let scientists cut on it again.
