The infestation of human-dwellings in some of these pics reminds me of mold growing over an orange.

Agreed. The NATURAL photos were awe-inspiring but the MAN-MADE sites show just how out of balance man is with nature. IMO man has ensured his destruction by thinking we can conquer nature. So, so sad.

In my opinion, I don't think it is a matter of Man thinking he can conquer nature, I think it is a mixture of a long history of ignorance to what we are doing to the planet and the rest being those that know, but just don't care.

Wow great pictures! I love the favelas in Rio and the one of Dubrovnik is great! Being of Croatian heritage myself I've seen many pictures like this all around the country. Wish I could say I've been there though. S+F for you OP, beautiful pictures!

Almost all of those photos show the destruction we've caused on our planet. A fricken coal mine in Africa? That's about the worst excuse for 'not all bad' I've ever seen.

I think there has been some serious misunderstanding in this thread. What I said was "Look at how amazing some of the human developments truly are. Not all is bad and evil. "

I'm simply saying these pictures are amazing and NOT ALL is bad and evil in this world. If you can't agree that in these pictures is MOSTLY beautiful sights of the Earth then I don't know what to say...maybe you need to get some fresh air and stop waiting for Doomsday to hit.

Yes, of course there are photos of the destructive impact we have on our home planet, but seriously isn't that the obvious? We do live here and have for a while now....

Amazing pictures.

Some a disturbing example of the ugly impact that mankind has left on this planet, whilst others an example of just how beautiful this planet can be when left untouched by our destructive hand.
