My mom told me a story about something that scared her about 35 years ago in Boston, Ma & I thought I would share it with you all.

Her and her friends were driving around Boston looking for something to do. As they were driving down to an area they didn't really know, they saw a man walking on the side of the road. He was dressed in crushed velvet clothing with long painted black fingernails and he had his face painted in black and white, half and half sort of like a medieval jester. My mom passed this man and essentially made a comment of whats with that guy?. My mom and her friends decided to get a bite to eat and after driving for several miles, they stopped at a restaurant. The restaurant was pretty crowded and so they were seated at a booth in the back. They ordered their drinks and the waitress brought them. After a couple of minutes, my mom's friends glass levitated off the table and moved about a foot to the right and was set back down on the table. They all freaked out. They were in mid conversation about nothing paranormal when it happened and it scared them. About 5 minutes later, the creepy man with his face painted walked into the restaurant. He immediately came over to my mom's table, ignoring every other table in the place and asked for a ride to the Boston common. My mom thought it was odd because not many people referred to it as the Boston common. She told the man no.. as she was very creeped out by the site of him. Her friend offered to pay for a taxi for him if he would give her a bracelet that he was wearing. The painted up man agreed, and they called him a cab. He went and stood by the door and seemed to be eyeing everyone at the restaurant. A few minutes later, the cab showed up. The man walked over to my mom and her friends and said thank you. He then turned to my mom and said "Oh, you know how your glass floated off the table a moment ago? Well, take a look at this." The man showed my mom his ear. His ear was missing a chunk of it, and in the missing section, an earring was floating, not sustained by anything visible. The man then laughed and walked out of the restaurant. My mom had a very bad feeling from the man and was very scared. He also was not in the restaurant when the drink floated. She was confused at how he could have this knowledge, and how his earring was just floating there like magic. My mom left that area that night and went back to her home town. About a year later, her and my dad decided to go back to that restaurant, on the way home, they saw the same man, dressed the same way... walking down the road. When they saw him, my mom had my dad take an alternate route home. She doesn't like telling this story because she still fills up with fear when thinking of the man.

So I gotta ask, who do you think he was? Ghost? Magician? Does anyone know the significance of his costume? I would like to know if anyone had any similar experiences to this. Keep in mind this was approx. 35 years ago.

That is a quite serious encounter! No problems otherwise? Then probably you could just drop it.

But if you want to learn more, you should study up yourself on such encounters and make your own decision about your mom's story.

It could have been just a man. But the odds are somewhat against that conclusion...

I would say something evil or demonic. They feed off of fear and that's exactly what he was doing. Seeing him again a year later walking down the street would creep me out too! I'm glad she and her friends at the time had enough common sense not to give him a ride. Who know what would have happened.

I agree! The funny thing is, one of her friends was kind of a dumb girl and wanted to give him a ride, my mom talked her out of it.

Interesting story.

If your mother had a bad feeling deep in her gut about this man than it was wise of her to go with that.

Now if the glass clearly actually did levitate off the table in front of multiple people, something was up that isn't considered within our spectrum as "normal" physics wise.

My guess is either a et, window faller (see LKJ's book High Strangeness) or some other kind of non human entity. Or possibly just some weird guy that was a very good magician that got his jollies off of scaring people.?

Anyway, when you meet someone, and your gut instincts tell you to steer clear, best to go with your feelings.

Sad that we can't be more caring and loving but many a good hearted people have been murdered giving a ride to a stranger..............even "normal" looking people.

Out of curiousity, can you get your mom to describe what he looked like more? height, weight, hair and eye color, color of the crushed velvet clothing?

Now his face painted half black and white, maybe he had just watched that Star Trek episode with the two people fighting prejudicism because one had white on his left side and black on his right side and the other guy was vice versa.........www.amazon.com... and the guy got carried away with the program.

The episode was #70 of the original series called, "Let This Be Your Last Battlefield".

Now, read my ATS user name.................I suspect not everyone you meet is from around here.
