Volcanic ash falling on Icelandic towns

A lot of ash has been falling around the Vatnajokull glacier and nearby towns this evening. It is expected to continue through the night and maybe into tomorrow, according to Icelandic Met Office geologist, Hjorleifur Sveinbjornsson. The ash is much coarser than that which came from Eyjafjallajokull last year.

You know what, if this thing is erupting proper, it could be a real problem. I wonder if such an event could trigger some of these 'big one' quakes lying in wake across the earth. I would suggest most likely not, but there is always a chance of something out-of-the-ordinary living in these times.
