US Politics is a Reality Show run by the Wall Street

"If you couple the bailouts with the lack of law enforcement and the lack of prosecution, there is really no incentive for the people on Wall Street not to commit crimes. Especially, if they are incredibly profitable. If people on Wall Street think about ripping a foreign bank of foreign hedge fund there will be absolutely no consequences. And, even if they suffer, the worst case scenario is that the Government is going to come and bail them out" said Matt Taibbi, author and political journalist for Rolling Stone.

It is NOT time to move on. These criminals need to be brought to JUSTICE. The crimes of wall street and the city of london have to be answered for. This affected millions of good, honest people who lost everything, while, those who caused it were actually rewarded by being bailed out, and now are back to the level of bonuses they had before the crash. BRING THEM TO JUSTICE

If it wasn't obvious before that bankers around the world hold the politicians in their back pockets, (because this is not limited to the U.S. though perhaps more brazenly open there) it has been made almost crystal clear since the 2008 "financial meltdown".

There is one ounce of hope with the Carl Levin inquiry. If nothing else, and probably insignificant compared to the other "questionable activities he was involved with, there is 100% proof that Goldman's CEO Lloyd Blankfein committed perjury in front of congress, and we know that professional baseball players have been indicted for the same offense.

That said, I will not hold my breath, as Taibbi explains, "the forces at work are powerful, and they're intrenched and they're also very efficient". As he summarizes, real change is unlikely to come anytime soon when a crisis of the magnitude of the financial debacle wasn't enough to change the way the Wall Street/Washington relationship functions.

I guess we will have to keep our fingers crossed for any type of justice.

This is the truth although unless you wrap it up in an earthquake or a birth certificate we have no real solutions for this dilemma. It is just something we have to live with like fleas on a dog.
I say get the flea killer and wipe them out. We need a new system because this one is not working.
Maybe in another hundred years we will figure that out.

Right now though people just don't care or they just don't know how to change it.
Unfortunately I don't think you will ever get the stars and flags you deserve for broaching this topic.

Sadly, as Tabbi said, the average american has no idea that their vote doesn't count. No matter who wins, they lose. What's even worse is that these miserable people tend to celebrate the win of their puppet hoping things will actually change.

And remember, the celebrity politician's and their talking head employees have continuously rung the "Let's look forward, not back" bell, and still are.

Yes we have urgent problems, yes we are at a crisis point - we always are, aren't we? But if we let them continue to author the script, the story will never change. And if you can't talk about what they have done, they will use their authority to make the same decisions again.

The last thing we will ever get from them voluntarily is transparency.

It's not that there's a big secret conspiracy to find, it's to recognize that even if there was, we will never find it through them... and they refuse to allow us to 'look behind the curtain.' For all we know, the only entity in the United States with sovereign privacy is the corporate-government coalition. Which is precisely why citizens were specifically and directly empowered to remove their governance. THAT is their fear, because the corporate-government coalition (also know as the party) is dedicated to it's continuity above all other concerns.... go figure.

Good point. A lot of liberals seem to have changed their minds on the wars. It's blatantly clear with what's currently happening in Libya.

It won't do any good to just keep our fingers crossed and hope they do what is right; they've already indicated with their actions that they won't. the public needs to address this themselves by taking notice and reforming the system from below.

A lot of what is going on isn't a conspiracy at all; it is out in the open. The public is just ignoring it. The election process needs to be reformed and controlled by the public.
