Do you have time to rest a moment?
To close your eyes and be lifted?
If you do, then I offer you Sheila Chandra.
Sit back, relax, push the play button and you may just want to play it again.
(let these buffer first if needed. We don't want interruptions.)

"Ever So Lonely"

If you found yourself carried along by that song, here is another to continue your moment. "Adagio for Strings" is an orchestral piece writen by American composer Samual Barber. It runs for about ten minutes. Enjoy

"Adagio for Strings"

OK , are you still with me? One more piece before I end this musical thread. This next piece was written by Russian composer Dimitri Shostakovich. It is a fanfare. Fanfares were originally written to open celebrations or the arrival of dignitaries.

There is a technique in classical music of building from quiet themes, gently increasing tempo and volume, teasing the listener with hints of fulfillment, as it builds towards climax and final resolutions. This piece for me is one of the best.

I find this piece best listened to as the pieces above, in a quiet mind. But this one you may want to turn up the volume.
Ear phones would be nice. Just let it pick you up and if you are like me you may want to cheer when it finishes.

"Festive Overture" OP96

Well, there you go friends. Three pieces that have fluttered MY heart over the years.
I thought about adding "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" but you know, it just wouldn't fit in,
