Im posting this because im tired of the crap they call music these days... Nothing really uplifts people with the sh*t they pump out for the almighty dollar quite honestly, its embarrassing to even turn on the tv which is why i no longer have cable.

No one remembers the uplifting songs from the 60s and 70's now its all about greed and money and reality shows which have nothing to do with ordinary people. Most people dont act that way.

anyways, i wanted to repost this because Cat Stevens is one of the most decent of the era past, and some of the youngans under 35 may not remember that because Rap and Lady Gag Gag have clouded their brain cells..

Cat Stevens

I'm glad you do! It's my Uncle's favorite song and we play it every now and again when we're partying.

1976... I always thought this song rivaled Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven', but it's not widely recognized. Enjoy!

Didn't Ronnie Montrose play on the Frankenstein single?

Yes, he and Derringer played together on the studio track. Good stuff! I always dug the double drum solo and crazy ass synth. Looking back it was more sounds and arrangements that became ingrained, and less lyrics.
A few more for the mix:

TreeTop Flyer:

Magic Man: I wanted to be their magic man, hubba! This was one of the first songs I remember cranking up loud, cuz the sounds were just crazy and energizing!

Coconut

As a 60's person I disdained the 70's when they came along. Kiss and David Bowie made me retch. All that androgynous glam clap trap was heinous as far as I was concerned. It signaled the defeat of the social revolution that the youth of the 60s were trying to achieve. It was the beginning of a retreat into fantasy and, fortunately a retreat into some excellent porno.

Now, however, in retrospect I am rediscovering a lot of things that I'd overlooked and I'm finding some great stuff. Now I realize that each era has its reasons and its own greatness and beauty.

Here are a couple of things that at the time I would have recoiled from, but think are great now.

And one from the early 80s.
