All these riots world wide, people wanting freedom and to overthrow their governments. They want jobs.

So how do they think they are going to accomplish this by tearing down the institutions of government and business. Who will they appoint as new overseer to allocate jobs. You look like a sewage plant worker comrade, go do your duty to society and we will let you live in apartment and give you vouchers for food. You comrade, need to work the fields to feed the other workers. Comrade, you are old and of no benefit to society, take this pill to relieve society of the burden of your presence.

Will they be able to cooperate, not be jealous of others. We can’t have sewage workers, field workers living next to factory workers. We can’t have any workers living next to overseers. Workers don’t need cars, boats, jet skis, computers or game consoles, they only need to eat, sleep and work for the benefit of society.

"The fact is a firm NO. This is no sort of revolution. The political parties are helping to organize the appearance of the crowds. These gatherings have been going on since the 15th. People are blowing this WAY out of whack without knowing anything about it.

Everyone will be partying elsewhere on the 23rd."

I am not one to blow things out of proportion. But since viewing this thread I have read several articles regarding the protest as well as kept the live feed up on my computer. This has everything to do with the Politicians, the Banks, and greed in Spain and has no political backing. What do you know that we don't know??? Please lend some insight to your statement.

Barry is President of the United States. That is what is going on in the world. These socialist and Muslim uprisings are not coincidence.

Long time in the making...

Check the 1:53 minute mark. This was uploaded today, but I believe it was from last year, as he references the recent 1000 point Dow drop...

Good luck people of Spain from the USA.

Here in the US we actually have citizens supporting more tax cuts for the very same entities that have corrupted our government, overburdened our government with debt, and sent our jobs overseas. Wealth disparity is increasing...the top .1 percent of this country have more wealth that the bottom 50 percent.

That's how stupid some are over here.

Best of luck to those in Spain. I had no idea unemployment among the young was so high.

there is the question of

Is this a true revolution/uprising

or

Is it controlled by the Elite,
and even if it is a true uprising, wont the new govt in place be the same as the old one, just a new face?

I was just in Spain some days ago for holidays and we encountered many demostrations throughout the visit. In Andalucia of course, Seville was one of the biggest demostration (as it's one of the biggest city) I saw in Andalucia. I estimate that there were about 5000 people there. It was very pacific and they were just chanting against the policies of the current goverment (Socialist by the way). The demostration was pretty pacific. there were other demostration in smaller cities like Jerez, where there was about 800 people. In Granada there were many many panflets and organised stalls by the streets to incentivate people into going to the demostrations to follow. In Cordoba there were also demostrations but they were having a festival at the same time so people werent thinking too much about the demostration but always were aware that they were unhappy.

Very outspoken are there, on the news it was in every single channel saying about the demotsrations. In plaza del Sol in Madrid, there was a group that wanted to stay there until elections day. the police came at about 5.00am to take them out and finally force was used to get them out of there but they refused. Sticks were used to hit them. Many condemmed the actions by the police. The people did not move but help to motivate others to join. By Spanish law, one day before the elections rallies need to be suspended to allow a day of reflection for the people before voting. The people in the Plaza are planning to stay and they will stay probably today as well.

I had the chance to speak to many Spaniards and everyone is unhappy. From young to old, many are unhappy. Its not only the youth, many people are upset here. Lets remind you people that the youth in Spain is unemployed with an avarage of 45% unemployement for the recent graduates (graduated more than 6 months ago) and the under 25.

I have pictures from the demostration in Seville even though its not much I did I am happy to post them if you let me know how to post pictures here from my camera. When I click on pictures it saying to type an HTTP address but ?? How??

edit to post that the demostration I saw was on the 18 of May and I am aware that the numbers are growing so I am not very aware of what is going on now. better is to find stream from "Noticias24" a news channel from there and other main channels like TVE and Antenna 3.

I think your view is at best, simplistic. We have to admit that, in the same way that Eastern European/Soviet communism does not work, neither does the current "democracy" of the Occidental Hemisphere.

For the record, we currently have an oligarchy that is intent on returning to the "Gilded Age". If you think the words you used will spark fear in my heart, they won't. We are already living in a society in which social mobility is being curtailed by the sticker price on a diploma. And even if you are willing to spend an inordinate amount of money on an education, you are voluntarily submitting yourself to a life of indebted servitude. People that have debts to pay, will not risk losing a job, even if it offers very limited benefits, or *gasp* none at all.

Historically speaking, we are overdue for a large re-imagining of our socio-economic system (usually preceded by uncomfortable social uprisings). Only difference, is now it will be happening in real time, for all the world to see and follow suit. We have more knowledge available to us than ever before, and I have faith that we can live in a fairer society. Don't get me wrong, I am all for capitalism, but we are currently living under a corporatist state, those are two very distinct animals. Corporations, have taken over the world, and if you think that having a rich, fulfilling life only consists of having cars, boats, jet skis, etc., then you need to turn off the TV and take a good look around.

Love & Peace!

Merry old England.
Despite our differences that have gone on in the past and with some anamosity. You have rightfully always been
and will always be, our closest brothers and sisters across the great pond. Together we are the west. Canada
you to, come on, get in here, group hug.

Something just acured to me. Maybe these folks are afraid of being raptured up out of here. So they figure if they join hands it won't be so shocking if they all go flying together. Makes sense ? No ! Ok then, just a thought.
