Following Indiana Supreme Court ruling, sheriff says random house to house searches are possible

Without warrants of course.

That sheriff is a stinking thug and should be removed AT ONCE for violating his oath of office.

According to Newton County Sheriff, Don Hartman Sr., random house to house searches are now possible and could be helpful following the Barnes v. STATE of INDIANA Supreme Court ruling issued on May 12th, 2011. When asked three separate times due to the astounding callousness as it relates to trampling the inherent natural rights of Americans, he emphatically indicated that he would use random house to house checks, adding he felt people will welcome random searches if it means capturing a criminal.

I cannot believe that SOB ended up being a sheriff.

People in Indiana are getting the message that their state is fast turning into a hardcore police state...

The Indiana Supreme Court has received numerous threats via telephone and email following a controversial decision handed down last Thursday, May 12th, 2011, that “authorizes” police to search homes randomly according to Indiana Supreme Court Spokeswoman, Kathryn Dolan. In a 3-2 ruling in BARNES vs. STATE of INDIANA, Justice Steven David, appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels wrote that under “modern” (post-PATRIOT-Act) jurisprudence, Hoosiers must submit to the violent force of any and all UNLAWFUL searches instigated by law enforcement. The court justifies such intrusion due to individuals having better access to courts, than at the elevation of the right to common-law.

Post-patriot act jurisprudence... stinking judges... and of course, the SOB in congress reauthorized the Patriot Act for 4 more years yesterday or are about to today or early next week.

And hopefully this campaign on Facebook to kick that SOB sheriff gets going :

They're gonna mess with the wrong family and wind up with some dead policemen. I know for a fact if someone bursts into my house in the middle of the night for no reason as my family sleeps someone is getting shot. I don't care who it is.

You know, getting rid of the sheriff will not invalidate the ruling. They will simply arrange for another sheriff to take his place, and they will use whatever tools the courts allow them to in the pursuit of what they call 'enforcement.'

Or maybe worse, they will declare an emergency situation and let the State police come in until the next election... do you think they will be any better?

Yea this pig needs to go. He has opened the door for a rash of authoritive abuse not seen since Hitler. I hope everybody that voted this sherrif in is kicking themselves now. Honestly this entire bunch deserves every threat they receive. What a douchebag.

If I lived there, I would get a few cameras set to record around the front door and into the main room of my house, and as soon as they come to my door, I would start recording while citing my 4th Amendment rights and telling them they can not come into my home, and speed dial on multiple phones, every local news station and newspaper.

As far as I'm concerned, they are the bigger criminals because they believe they are ALLOWED to do this, where as a regular criminal knows it is wrong.

so im thinking this will follow suit for most of the states, when they start their un-constitutional random search's, that wont be so random. they will find some drugs or some big time criminals and go see i told ya so, and the rest of america falls in line. Eventually some cops will get killed then some more and maybe martial law will go into place.

IDK just what i think.

well...just keep electing republicans to the presidency who appoint the supreme court justices that rule in favor of this. or keep electing republican governors that talk about creating jobs, then dismantle union jobs in their state, in favor of part-time, minumum-wage, poor-people jobs. or the republican governors that will not allow your 12 year old daughter to have an abortion, even if she is raped by 3 mentally-retarded psychopaths that escaped from jail. or keep electing republican congressmen that want poor people to die, soon after they can no longer work and pay for medical care with their own meager paychecks
