Fears terrorist commandos could mount attack on replacement for the Twin Towers
Security fears have been raised over the new World Trade Center skyscraper's security after 'confidential' detailed schematics of the building were posted online.
Documents showing the locations of 1 World Trade Center's mechanical rooms, ventilation shafts, exits, elevators and stairs were posted on the New York City's Department of Finance website.

The Port Authority said the documents were 'scrubbed' of sensitive information about 1 World Trade Center's electrical systems, plumbing, security and fire safety.

Is this a real issue or just fearmongering in the press?

Experts have warned that the documents could be used to plan a Mumbai-style commando assault or work out where to hide a bomb in a building described as 'the nation's no.1 terror target'.
The 17 downloadable Port Authority schematics also designate which floors can be leased out and which cannot.
Dr. Maria Haberfeld, chair of the Department of Law and Police Science at John Jay College, said: 'We should not be sharpening our own guillotines.

'Terrorists do train. They do countersurveillance, they look at targets and evaluate points of entry, points of evacuation.'

I guess there is some compliance reason that the plans have been published? To me it is just typical fearmongering by the media and 'experts', if a terrorist wanted to attack the new towers they would do it if their desire was high enough whatever info they could get their hands on. Further the last place a terrorist would likely attack is the WTC1, they might look for easier targets no?
