Just because America has a large population of people who identify as Christians it doesn't make it a Christian nation.
Your founding fathers despised religion. Your constitution and the first ammendment make it very clear what status the Christian religion has in the
"No religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."
"The civil rights of none shall be abridged on account of religious belief or worship, nor shall any national religion be established, nor shall the
full and equal rights of conscience be in any manner, or on any pretext, infringed."
One more interesting little point on this topic also. From the 1796 treaty with Tripoli:
"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion;"
For the record I believe in God but imposing religious beliefs on others like you're suggesting is what drives people away from religion..
