Can anyone tell me why I can't see anything other than a "no results" for eq lists? Is it necessary to become a member?

Can anyone confirm this or is it fabricated?

HAARP has it's hands all over this one if true eh?

Hey there, my friend let us know this afternoon about an earthquake he felt in Greece today which seems to be included on the original image. So if nothing else it's an intriguing co-incidence this mystery reading should happen on the same day.

You do not decide what goes to the HOAX forum. Get off of your high horse.

As for the original subject? I'd be highly suspicious of ANY EQ in that area, considering the circumstances.

That is the question all day.

If you look at the original post, there are links to 2 EQ sites but it's not on others. This is why I posted the ? on the title and also my being unable to find more than 2 EQ sites reporting.

Then we have the Greece and Turkey EQ's of a decent Mag right after so there are speculations of everything from a bomb, US hiding the info and on and on.

It has also been suggested as a hoax but again, no one has proven that either. So it's an open book so far.

And the mystery continues.

You were presented with FACT by INSTRUMENTS - You have taken this to far. A simple single instrument malfunction/agency reporting error and your feeding the poor Folks who don't know any better - Shame On You!

Let me clarify - No Quake In Libya - at least nothing to blink an eye at...

I see a couple near libya but they are minor... I see a couple near Japan that are 6 .. that would be more of a concern to me than the minor earthquakes near'ish to libya

given the magnitude reported and the place it is, under the current volatility..

I check earthquakes everyday and have for several years I saw the one in Turkey and Greece and looked to see if there any reports of casualties and damage. Then I saw this and have been checking to see if it ever gets reported. I asked a friend in Egypt if he had heard anything there about it. He idn't know what I was talking about. Its the strangest thing who ever heard of an unknown earthquake especially of that mag. Has anyone measured between them are they in a straight line? With it off the coast I guess it could be hid if there was no damage.

I know nothing of EQs but is it possible this could be related?

A nuke blast would not register an 8.4 on any seismo. They more typically register in the 2, 3 and MAYBE 4 range. So that theory is out.

Actually, this site says that a nuclear blast equal to .377 the energy output of a 13kt Hiroshima bomb would cause an 8.5 reading on a seismograph.

Magnitude: 8.5
Energy Joules: 0.355E+18
Energy ft-lbs: 0.262E+18
TNT Tons: 0.849E+08
TNT Mt: 0.849E+02
TNT Eq: 0.566E+10
Hiroshima Bombs: 0.377E+06

I'm not a mathematician by any stretch of the imagination so I can't confirm if those numbers are accurate; but a variable-yield battlefield tactical nuke could throw a 4-5kt blast yield - which is just about right.


So the question is... Who got nuked off the coast of Libya? A Russian or Chinese sub perhaps? With a nuclear depth charge maybe?

they wouldnt need to nuke them, but what if one of those lybian ships carried one.

still like someone said, the depth registered could well be the newer bunker busters.
