It seems to me that this argument, and I say argument as it is not a debate as one side is unreasonable and resorts to personal insults, will go on indefinately as people refuse to admit the truth!

I will. I admit that communism went wrong for the USSR and later it's satellite states and it ended up a socialist dictatorship. However the USSR was good as a counterbalance to US imperialism though. That was one of it's redeeming features.

Furthermore, just because it did not work this time round does not mean it will never work. Communism has been around in some form or another since the time of Plato (read 'Republic') and the system set out by Marx and Engels would lead to a utopian society IF IMPLEMENTED CORRECTLY. Which it was not in the USSR.

Communism is a form of crony capitalism (as opposed to free-market capitalism). Leninism relies on the vanguard concept where one element of society will always be in a leadership role. This is consistent among Marxist intellectuals as well as revolutionary leaders. The state, which professes to look out for the best interests of the masses, becomes the only corporation.

The excuse that communism works in theory, but not in practice, does not hold water. Communism attempts to restrict aspects of human nature that are constructive for society.

Communists in certain parts of the world have served a positive role in challenging corrupt power structures, but are never hesitant to replace those with their own corrupt power structures. If you're shopping for revolution, there are more plausible (though from my perspective still very unattractive) paradigms out there: anarcho-syndicalism, libertarian socialism, participatory economics... All of these and more are being explored because even among the most extreme of dissidents it is acknowledged that communism is no solution.

Communism should be illegal like nazism in Germany is now, and all communists crackpots should be deported to North Korea!! That's right, it would be like a heaven on Earth for them so they can experience joys of communism.

Long live capitalism, in about 40 more years of economic growth, we shall experience triumph of economic wealth, where no one will have to worry desperately about material goods.

Communism works opposite of that, it freezes certain country in time and then takes it backwards until everyone is so poor that they can't afford food.
