Wrong chart. That's solar radio flux.

Now that makes even more sense! lol

The date definitely doesn't matter...
I had the wrong bookmark for awhile and haven't visited for awhile.

I remember watching NOAA/SWPC for awhile and seeing the rise in sun activity but didn't think it was so close to the EQ.

Are you actually stating that this is the reason for the temp rise or is it a theory?

Not the temperature rise. I don't see how proton flux could do that.

It could be the reason for the change in TEC. Even though the researchers acknowledge a great deal of solar noise during the precursor period, they discount it because geomagnetic activity was quite calm on the 8th. But increases in proton flux do not necessarily cause geomagnetic activity while they can affect TEC.

This project reveals a correlation (above 0.9) between the deviation of TEC values and the high energy (> 10MeV) proton flux.

Ok, this is making more sense. I thought you were talking about a temp rise and was getting a ???? reply ready.
Even I know better than that.

I appreciate you bringing more knowledge to the thread as many of us would like to know more.

Thanx!
