Thats the big problem I have with Anonymous. I like them. I cheer them. But because they are Anonymous, anyone else can pretend to be them, and how would we ever know?

Also, you have a point about the fact that their anonymity is a problem. At the same time, this is what they derive their strength from. Remove the mask, and they're just another run-of-the-mill group that could be easily cracked down and hunted.

Besides, if the whole organization was some sort of crazy CIA/FBI/whatever plot, I doubt they would have been allowed to get away with: (A) the mass support of Wikileaks & Julian Assange's dumping of classified government documents. (B) Taking down various corporate websites. (C) That whole thing where they hacked into an IT company, defaced their site, and stole company e-mails revealing that said company was producing secret rootkits, malware, and auto-surfing software for the government & military.

If there is any CIA involvement or such, it's probably that they're using Anonymous as a cover to target and attack foreign regime's websites.

Aside from 'you', what should we expect? Do you really plan on some sort of big event? I probably shouldn't have bitten here and given you the attention you wanted - but I am just curious. You are "legion"? When I read that, I thought of Caesars legion on Fallout: New Vegas. A primal group of people trying to fight for a "cause" that only their people really know about and support. Not saying that's how anonymous is but so far I haven't really seen anonymous make any coherent points about their activist aspirations. Maybe I just missed something, or maybe I didn't, either way I won't hold my breath.

I think Anonymous and a fictional massive tribe of slavers modeled after the Roman Empire (and their legions) that appear in a best-selling video game are NOT very comparable...

I was sort of for this whole "Anonymous" thing when it first started- but now they are just coming across as a bunch of self-absorbed, spoiled, bored 16 year olds......
The recent "Operation UFO" malarky and other things they have done recently are really not winning people over to their "cause".....

I get your point, and I do offer my apologies for jabbing at them from that lone angle... but I can't help but feel like this is all a whole bunch of drama caused by anonymous for nothing. Then again, I could very well be wrong about that. I'll just have to wait and see I suppose.
