What could possibly qualify as extremism on the part of the citizenry in the face of our surreal, extremist government that dresses up in black and red robes and performs mock human sacrifices in front of a stone owl. Not to mention the millions of people they've killed just to add some zeros to their bank accounts, poisoning the whole earth in the process.

Oh yeah, the great benefits the federal (and other) government gives us for our tax dollars. Like what? TARP? Federal education involvement? The FDA which slams supplement companies while letting every big pharma drug on the market until they kill tens of thousands or more? Society was able to function without federal income taxes until 1913, apparently. What did people do before then? How did they make it?

Without Social Security.
Without Medicare.
Without Pell Grants so their little darlings could get an education.
Without People thinking they are "entitled" to the American Dream and can actually afford a $500,000 mortgage working at Burger King.
Without Federal Subsidies for welfare recipients.

Shall I go on?

Irony.

This nicely produced propaganda piece uses strawman fallacy and cherrypicking in the case of this guy. They pick a guy that sounds crazy and weird so that he will be associated with an entire group. Typical state sponsored propaganda.

The guy they picked might be a CIA paid actor. That's not ruled out.

Let's see....

Strawman
Cherry-picking
(sly indirect)Ad hominem
Fox News/Bill O' Reilly-style cutoffs(to dictate the flow of the debate and to disrupt the attention of the listener)
Prepping(preps the audience's opinion before hand then ask a question to the interviewee having already gave the audience their "prepared" opinion. Re:Sean Hannity)

Any others?

Ouch. That's a scary mentality you've got going on there.

What you're saying is bend over and take whatever they give you, because they're always right?

While I decry what those nutjobs did to the 2 cops, I am in absolutely NO WAY advocating that anyone EVER trust their Government.

Appreciate them, yes.
Work with them when they are doing the right thing? Yes.
Trust them? Never.

Always make sure they are working for YOU, not the other way around.....and yes Government's CAN be evil...let us not get off-topic by starting a war on how they can be.

I'll watch the entire piece later this AM...Finished the 4 min sampler video though. IMO it could have just as easily been a Jon Stewart Show interview. The way the commentators were talking about the interview, all that was missing were some Bush-bashing jokes and some witty eyebrow raising at the camera.

wait xcath so because SOMEONE else that maybe believes somewhat similar to me has made unfounded statements means I am guilty too?

While I agree with you that some people are the pot calling the kettle black... a small portion of people on BOTH SIDES actually do have room to criticize.

And on a personal note yes it is WRONG that knowing your rights and campaigning for the second amendment doth not make one a terrorist....

So in this case YES we do have room to throw the BS flag! I don't say all democrats are empty headed narcissists who are destroying the nation. I think some Dem's and SOME Republicans are exactly that, but not all! They make blatant statements on shows like 60 minutes designed to create a REACTION not to INFORM the people and let them make their own decision abou the stories they run.

It's purely and simply YELLOW journalism and I'm getting tired of being told because both sides do it I somehow don't have the right to point it out.h

Perfect slave.

You don't believe in a fair society. Not if you support using violence to steal property. What's fair about that?

Bullying and scamming? That's not how the government operates? They never threaten, bully, lie, obfuscate, to get what they want?

"If I have to pay you have to pay." Nice. No one will ever be free as long as people like you can't see the horror of a statement like that. It's as if you've never considered liberty for yourself or anyone else. Sad.

None of us are above the law and honestly if you hold that mentality right now I will say you better rethink things before you end up dead like them, or go find a different country if you can't handle rules or authority. Btw 'TPTB' is such a blanket statement it makes me sick. Do any of you honestly view "all government" as bad? I hope not.

It's not about freedom, or being a soverign citizen or whatever, these people like to just challenge authority and the laws our forefathers set forth and as you can see they kill others and die as a result. Yeah, America, land of the free, but not AK-47 on the highway without license popping cops free. For crying out loud!
edit on 15-5-2011 by Sek82 because: btw I thought the Viagra commercial bit of that clip was quite odd too. Dude driving down the highway and he's overheating, needs a little water in the radiator, somehow I think it's going to be a car care product commercial but no, it's freakin' Viagra! Now that's one aspect of this country you should be questioning!

I'm sorry, but who is the "authority" and who gave them such?

You're correct in "no one is above the law", but the issue is what is the law. We live under so many statutes which aren't laws, yet law enforcement try to pass them off as laws.

Do you ever ask yourself rather a law is constitutional or just? Or do you just accept what evers told you?

So because you submit to being #ed in the arse, you're going to make sure everyone does?

Someone who says their sovereign and won't let the government control them isn't actually saying their better than everyone else by birth. They're saying that they see the ponzi scheme and refuse to keep bending over. You're angry at them for that?

Clearly, murdering 2 cops because you lost your job as a waiter at joeys fill-n-go falls into the "against the law" chapter. And we, as citizen's in a democratic republic gave them the authority by our votes.

I think that's the "rolling around as though you're above the law", was meant to address as it is directly the topic in that video.

I digress...I was coming from a different angle. I wasn't really referring to the two guys in so as much as the average citizen. The mentality that police have "authority" over us, which isn't the case.

People,people,people.....The problem isn't "Da Gubberment"
It's US!!!

As another poster so eloquently put it,
it's the soccer moms who have only ever seen a gun on T.V.

it's the ignorant sheep who get their view of this world and all of their news and information from John Stewart and Steven Colbert.

it's the Christians who believe that if we could just get Pat Robertson into the White House this country would be great again,

it's the steel mill worker who believes that if we could just get a good Democrat into office our union jobs would be safe,

It's all of the ignorant people in this country who are so god damned afraid to think for themselves, who are too god damned stupid to formulate an original thought, that they are going to welcome with open arms this NWO that is speeding towards us like a freight train!!!!

Where is Chuck Norris when you need him most????

When they do so much to suppress true democracy and to use divide and rule tactics it is inevitable that some people will go over the edge. Then of course they attempt to label all people that object to the way the government is working for the benignity of the corporations. There needs to be much more participation from the majority in the decision making process then people like this won't have any legitimate cause for their activities. As it stands they may provide some of the extremists in power with the excuse they want to suppress some legitimate opposition. There's so much of it now that they can't stop it all but they can highlight the most extreme which is what they're doing.
