I built my garden of love for you,
But you did what most men do,
You deciimated the beautiful purity,
Watching it burn in its' entirety,
So completely ripped the heart out of me,
And left me alone in my foolish vanity.
The passion burning a hole into the core of my soul,
The paiin reaching the depths tearing a hole,
into the core of my being,
I am a stupid stupid girl
And you ruined my world.

Beautiful...reminds me of my first love. I felt that exact same way when he broke my heart. I'm married to him now and all is amazing. Your words touched me.

This works both ways, just found out yesterday that my girlfriend didnt want me in her life anymore.. and shes chatting up two other guys in facebook at the same time... something a sixteen year old would do, not a women in her late thirty's.. oh well she tore up the garden i tried to build for her, now its time to plant my own dreams in it, not the dreams of others..
great poem.
(sorry for that rant, just seemed fitting as it just happened)

Thanks For The Crumbs

All around me lie the signs I shouldn't have ignored
You don't give naturally
You've eaten your fill from the table I prepared
Left me with the crumbs
You naively expect me to be happy
As if you've lain a generous feast
But every time I eat I leave feeling empty
As if you've kept the best part back
So I search for something more
But you confusedly wonder at my discontent
You never let me sit at your table
I'm always on my knees offering myself up
You take your fill, I give all I have
But still you want more and wonder at my needs
I live for you, yet remain your burden to bear

Loved yours, thanks for sharing. I can relate to how you feel. Not now, but in the past. It will get better. Give yourself time, and him absolutely none.

Your are loved.

Great poetry and believe me I can relate. Here's mine I wrote over a year ago and I'm still dealing with the fallout so to speak...

If my body was the planet earth
You were mother nature
Falsely scorn you quaked, you bled
Left me jagged, charred black
I tried to water and feed our tree
All you wanted were her leaves
My revolutions gave our sapling life
But you set the sun and now to him
I'm a shadow beneath a shadow
I was forced into Russian roulette
As you played hide and seek
I wonder will you ever know
This cold lifeless scar tattooed to my heart
Spells your name.

this is exactly how it was with my ex. it got so much that i had to leave. how many times can you offer your whole being to person and watch him trample it and abuse it?

a star for you, my dear

Yes...but my does it take courage and resilience to leave. Because they will say and promise just about anything to get you to stick around. I'm a sucker for promises because honesty comes naturally to me, so I expect it from others. Not the smartest thing to do in the world.

I'm glad you left your ex.

at the risk of sounding hack, it does get better with time. whats key to that is never giving him the time of day again. (well, im writing "he" to facilitate the writing, so forgive me) he will only seek to exploit your love again.

and yeah, i may sound jilted, but after trying to forgive infidelity, ive learned that if i dont have what it takes to keep him, let him go, ya know?

stars, lady

Lady S, you have my sympathies and my heart-felt hopes that he not only comes to understand that kind of pain, but that you find someone as spectacular as you to share your life with. I'm here if you need to chat.

Oh, great poetry too.
