Thanks for a perfect example of what I meant by bringing "a wider understanding for everyone."

Your shared education on this matter shows that the only thing that crashes in this one is the underlying premise.

Hey no fair using math.

I am however wondering what it takes these days to get a book published. As you point out, apparently not much.

Well, turned out to be a pretty good thread with some interesting replies.

I think the most damaging thing to all of this, IF the premise of this story was even remotely correct.

The thing only had an estimated 1000 mile range. So. As someone pointed out. they would have to mostly likely been in Mexico.

Which that in itself could be interesting considering the time frame. But, be that as it may, I think the book sales will not go well for the author.

Especially if people Google the book and this link comes up & they read ......

Over all rating of this book: THREE
& a Hardy:

So.. they failed miserably? This didn't cause anything but a mild stir for a week or less, when it was first brought to light. It was forgotten about for decades, until Stanton Friedman got some info and started researching it more seriously. It didn't "cause a panic," and I think this theory is ludicrous.

Honestly, I can't believe the woman even got someone to publish it.

In a book format anyway.

I bet you the book is about 10 pages long. I mean, what else can she go into?

So every possible UFO sighting is just the soviets fart-assing about in planes that aren't even theirs, with alien-like childen dressed in costume.

Give me some of what you're having please!

This is what happens when "main stream" journalists get in over their little heads.

The founder of Area 51's UFO sightings . . .

The Roswell and titanium industry connection . . .

Just Denying Ignorance.

Man I sure hope people find this thread before they consider buying this book.

Matter of fact, maybe the whole UFO community should go on a Frontal Assualt and totally discredit the thing even before it hits the bookshelves.

The question is, why still with the secrecy? If this was the explanation why wouldn't it be released yet? What reason is there to hide something like this? Unless they want people thinking aliens exist, possibly to cover up their own "UFO's" top secret military aircrafts.

I'd wait until it hits the bookshelves. Best to look at the whole thing first to see what, if any, value is there.

makes more sense than an "advanced intersteller space craft" crashing into the middle of bum # no where. i love how defensive UFO people get when something gose aginst the grain. this to me saemas even more strange and even more possible than space men crashing into the earth by accident. there are no little green (or grey) men running around are planet and running the show behind the scenes. ya know why? cause we live in a cosmic dead zone. there is no alien agenda. its a ploy to make you go crazy looking for facts when your just really grasping at straws here.

Perhaps you did not understand what I meant by "is it?'.
I will clarify
Is it less likely that a spacecraft accidentally crashed here? Im not saying they have an agenda and are here for a reason or are even running the Show as you say. It is also extremely sad that of of a two word sentence, "is it?', you seem to think you know me and start to judge me. The possibility that there is life out there and one of them accidentally crashed here is way more believable than the story this book is giving.
All you need to do is read some of the replies already posted to see how this is less believable. Here's two for you to re-read, as I do not want to waste my time restating such things.

This is the stupidest explanation for Roswell I have ever heard. Here is the most obvious problem with this transparent lie:

Roswell happened in 1947.
World War II ended in 1945.

The book claims the mutant children were "12 or 13." They would have to have been born in 1935, before World War II even started, before Mengele did any human experiments, before he had his PhdD, before the Soviets could possibly have captured him - not that they ever did.

Absolute garbage.

anyone discounting this theory so quickly has a limited imagination.
and it is ironic to see people be so religious about their aliens theories...
when most believers scoff at the skeptics with the same brick-brained mentality.

It's not about imagination it's actually about facts and that's where the whole idea falls flat on it's backside.

Fact.... the only surviving Horten Air frames were all taken to the USA and the Horton brothers never visited the USSR.

Fact.... It would be just a bit stupid, to say the least, to try and scare the Yanks with something they already had.. Something that wasn't even secret.

Fact.... Over a decade before the Yanks even thought of stealth, the Avro Vulcan bomber had been developed, built and entered into service with the RAF. Its' designer quite freely admits he took part of the air-frame's design from captured documents obtained from Germany post WW2.

Fact... The idea that the Russkis would spend an absolute fortune on developing a single air-frame that could travel 1000s of miles to the USA, avoid all RADAR detection and then purposely crash it to *scare them* has to rate as one of the most inane suggestions yet.

In the end to me facts are facts. The facts show this story is false, while we still do not have all the facts to know if it was not an alien craft. Thats my opinion, at least. I may not agree with yours, but I still respect it and do not judge (or think I know you from one stance you take).

Not really.

At least the alien hypothesis would explain continued coverups of the event, and the secrecy surrounding it for decades.

Had it really been a Soviet propaganda stunt, it would have come out a LONG time ago.

Never mind that there are many claimed ideas that simply don't fly...Mengele being captured by the Soviets, them having the plans of the Horten wing (possible, but not really shown conclusively), having the range capability of getting either a manned or unmanned aircraft to the location (and undetected), etc., etc.

I'd imagine if they could get aircraft in that area, they'd have FAR more interesting things to do than start a UFO hoax, such as, oh, I don't know, stealing the atomic bomb!
No, instead, they did that the old-fashioned way, spies. (and like it or not, the Soviets had us beat in the spy game thanks to our open society, and their closed one).

Fact.... Over a decade before the Yanks even thought of stealth, the Avro Vulcan bomber had been developed, built and entered into service with the RAF. Its' designer quite freely admits he took part of the air-frame's design from captured documents obtained from Germany post WW2.

Oddly enough, TRUE stealth is actually based on the work of a RUSSIAN mathematician, He even tried to pitch it to the military, but they rejected it (mostly due to the shapes involved). We then used it for our stealth planes. The source is Ben Rich's memoirs (father of modern stealth).

Nice find.

I wonder what the skeptics will say to this. Now that she has been confirmed as a story teller, will the skeptics demand her stories and materials be banned from ATS like they do with other 'hoaxers'?

Thanks. I think we have to be tough but fair. The terrorism story is a real problem since the writer herself is the source. If, as a writer, an otherwise credible source spins you a tall tale, I think you have to go with it, but to what extent you place your own credibility on the line in backing it is the issue. The bottom line will be in the book itself and I'll at least give it a speed read at the local shoppe. Take it home? Maybe if Josef Mengele gets it for me as an early Xmas gift.
