Pakistan's parliament condemns U.S. raid, threatens sanctions

edition.cnn.com

Pakistan's parliament threatened Saturday to cut off access to a facility used by NATO forces to ferry troops into Afghanistan, signaling a growing rift that began when U.S. commandos killed Osama bin Laden during a raid on a Pakistani compound.

A resolution adopted during a joint session of parliament condemned the U.S. action. It also called for a review of its working agreement with the U.S., demanded an independent investigation and ordered the immediate end of drone attacks along its border region.

Seems like diplomatic relations are breaking down between the US and Pakistan over the Bin Laden raid.

It also seems there is deteriorating relations among a few nations, particularly those involved, or have vested interests in, countries in the Middle East. Like the recent news of Russia warning the west against intervention in Syria.

I wonder how far this altercation will go? Don't want to speculate on anything further as some people on here get very offended at the suggestion.

I hope it doesn't get too serious.
It doesn't look promising though

Oh God yes please...Sanction us!

Punish us by not allowing our corporations to use your people for cheap tech support
Punish us by not accepting our 3 billion dollars a year BFF charity fund we give you
Punish us by forcing us to leave afhganistan and bring the troops home.

Yes...man, I have never been so hopeful about a proposed "punishment".

Oh yes, gogo punish US

What a joke...So the buds of Osama are angry because he got owned on their background. This turn of events make me beleive that INDEED Osama got killed on that raid and not before. While this can be just another bluff in the great plan (and Osama died long time ago) , still...its a Parliament UNANIMOUSLY statement.

Anyway, good luck pakis with India.Because if you go too far with ''sanctions'' you will gonna need it.

This is nothing compared to the real story...

US drone attacks must stop - Pakistan

Describing the continued drone strikes as "unacceptable'', parliament said in a resolution: "Such drone attacks must be stopped forthwith, failing which the government will be constrained to consider taking (the) necessary steps, including withdrawal of (the) transit facility allowed to NATO.''

Basically say bye bye to the facilities of NATO in Afghanistan... which would create a big problem for troops in Afghanistan.

Pakistan war coming?

Me thinks the Pakistani will do nothing really, they'll just take a bribe from the US and their anger will only result in words.

Or you know, they'll do what most Pakistanis want... kick out the US and be friends with China instead. China already has troops in Kashmir... and are supplying arms to Pakistan.

Pakistan could easily kick out the US and be protected by China... and the US couldn't do squat about it.

Here's a solution : GET THE HELL OUT OF AFGHANISTAN. Let India-China-Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran-Iraq deal with it.

Good for Pakistan.

I personally find America's actions in Pakistan disgracefully arrogant.
