The Sudanese are telling the UN where to go with their "humanitarian" resolution.
The resolution gives the government 30 days to disarm the Janjaweed militias, which are accused of widespread atrocities against non-Arab groups.

Sudan's cabinet has also criticised the resolution. It has promised to disarm the Arab militias - but within 90 days.

More than one million people have fled their homes in 18 months of conflict.

The growing international concern about Darfur in western Sudan has led to calls for a limited form of military intervention.

Notice the 'war' in quotes in the BBCs own headline.

Why am I not the only one feeling that this is merely a show piece.

I got a good talking to from Valhall about this opinion of mine but I don't think it is unfounded.

the 'war' is in quotes because it's sudan saying the UN declared war on it through its resolution. it's not a "real" war, it's Sudanese rhetoric, hence the quotes.
