When a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Same can be said for ideas of all kind. Hypotheses, beliefs, concepts, and philosophies.

Ideas are meaningless and in a sense cease to exist if there is no one to use it. An idea is like an inanimate object in a way. It is just there. It does nothing, and does not help everyone. The idea will always have a use if there is someone to use it.

That is why we have religion. People have this basic idea that there has to be a sort of supernatural entity, or metaphysical consciousness that gave us meaning to our creation. Religion also has given us some basic morals as well, but what would it be like if it no one bothered to listen? No one would bother questioning the idea of a god and if they exist or not. If we didnt use this idea, we would be using the same exact morals we had before the said religion come about, which can either be a good thing or a bad thing.

Same can go with science. A person can have a hypothesis, or question to how something works. They only have that idea, but does not bother to research on it or study. The hypothesis is meaningless at that time. Then, another person has the same idea. Unlike the first person, this person actually researches, experiments, and forms a conclusion off of the analysis (Basically putting it through the scientific method.) Now this hypothesis is proven, and completely accepted by the scientific community, and can be now known as fact. If we didn't think upon the idea, or research on it, we wouldn't have known something that could have been important to us, and our knowledge.

So in conclusion, an Idea is inanimate. It is not good nor evil. It does not do anything. It is up to the person to use this idea, and share it with other people. Thats how we are able to disagree, and agree on things, filter out false ideas, and discover facts. If someone says X is good, but Y is bad, remember it is only true or false, and needs to be looked at with reason and wisdom, and not be ignored, no matter how wrong it may be. That way we can easily debunk or prove it.

To sum the whole thread up, an Idea is nothing without the person researching on it, and sharing it.
