and whos heart is more pure, a childs, or an adults?

We need both the adults wisdom born of experience, AND, the child's pure heart. Idealism AND realism both.

AND - the holy conjunction.

It needn't be an either/or, but instead an all inclusive proposition.

The "indigo starseeds" recently had a self congratulatory love-in fest, as a point of differentiation, in order to be special never realizing that "special" is all of mankind's natural state of being, to a one.

So now the "young people" have to do the same thing? It's understandable, given the degree to which they were dealt out of the game by fumbling old timers, I get that, but imbedded in the very idea of a me vs. you, young vs. old, genius vs. mediocre or "normal", that we lose the very best part of what binds us ALL together as human beings, don't you see?

And of course I would not have written that, such things did not come out of me, when I was say 22 years old. I am a better person at 44 simply because of my life experience, and the time it takes to grapple with the deep issues of life.

but ah, yes, to become a child once again WITH one's eyes wide open, that's a feat, for - "blessed are pure in heart for they shall see God."

If we don't have an all-inclusive abiding love for everyone, a hard fought love, which has wrestled itself from the depths of the human heart, and not without much suffering, what do we have to offer, of what use are we?

I remember my days in high school, we used to make wooden knives and Kung Fu Nunchaku sticks in wood shop! In metal shop we used to make kung fu stars. I can't begin to think what would happen today if they allowed students to have weapons like that in school.

I remember students breaking up fights in school hallways. Today kids see it as entertainment and feed off it. I see more young women getting in fights these days. The girls in our generation had more class and respect for themselves.

and what do you suggest we do about it?

I read this thread this morning but didn't have time to post anything.

If the young people ruled the world, we all would surely be doomed.

I'm not that old (39) but I can tell you, my own personal experience has shown me that today's young people are really lazy. Most think they can just go to work and hang out all day sending text messages to their friends and get paid for it. Many haven't put in an honest days work in their lives and they walk around with this really crappy attitude like the world owes them a living or something.

They are DUMB! It's actually quit frightening how dumb they are. They think that they are so smart mastering the latest video game, multimedia or communication device , yet many know next to nothing about the world they live in. Just randomly ask a young adult any well known historical question and see what kind of answer you get. Don't bother getting them to write anything on paper, you most likely wouldn't be able to read it.

Today's young adults know next to nothing of our world or its history and are sadly lacking in any sort of useful skills. It is my opinion that they would and will make this world much worse. We should have hope when thinking about leaving this world to the youth of today, but sadly I don't hold much.

I apologise if this has already been posted about. I'm not stating it's true or false but:

Something interesting I've came across along with someone else on page 1 who linked something similar is about "Star Children"

www.starchild.co.za...

The Crystal Children began to appear on the planet from about 2000, although some date them slightly earlier. These are extremely powerful children, whose main purpose is to take us to the next level in our evolution, and reveal to us our inner power and divinity. They function as a group consciousness rather than as individuals, and they live by the" Law of One" or Unity Consciousness. They are a powerful force for love and peace on the planet.

Just thought I'd toss that speculation in here.

Edit:

Today's young adults know next to nothing of our world or its history and are sadly lacking in any sort of useful skills.

Not every single young adult is like that, many are. And I mean many but there is a handful out there. I'd class myself as part of that handful in my opinion also.

I respect age, I know and respect lots of old people, I hope to be one myself someday lol. But let's face it, you people screwed up our world, bad. And guess what else -- we are the ones who are going to have to deal with the mess!

You had your cute opening statement. Time to show that respect you wear like a crown.

First, the world was messed up long before your parents and their parents got here. Nobody did it just for your amusement.

Second, you are not the first immortal youth who thought they had all the answers. Each and every generation since Adam has begun by thinking they were smarter than their parents and grandparents... the same people you never listen to. The same people who told you the oven was hot just before you burned your perfect little fingers.

Okay, I will admit I am no longer young enough to know everything but... you aren't either.

The last perfect human I saw was one hour old. She had not done a single stupid thing. She had not yet had the chance.

You had yours here at ATS and just did with this post.

Have a nice day.

damn, missed your age limit by four years, guess I'm too old *cry* but when you say youth, I really hope you don't mean the liberal college youth's who stand on the corner here in Chicago outside the college downtown and try to shove the eco crap in my face, I had to make one cry the other day when I proved him wrong and made him look dumb in front of his friends and the crowd who gathered to watch the debate his ignorant young mind thought I wouldn't OR didn't know how to bring. Then again I would love a good fight, must be my Chicago thuggery. ;-)

LOL the most screwed up, incapable, incompetent and in many cases retarded generation since humanity left the jungle and they want to take over; try washing the dishes and making your beds and supporting yourselves and then maybe you will be ready to take over, the local 7-11.

If this suggestion was not so obviously ridiculous it would not be so immediately be funny, in a bad way. I have no idea what is going to happen, as many of us are growing old and tired but someone needs to tell you. Go take a look at your "American Idol" or go shopping at the mall or go take a look at the typical 25 year old solder,,sorry but you are a generation that is damn near retarded.

This will of course offend most but I have children, a 17 and 28 year old who my wives and I spent a lot of time preparing for the world and they at every turn stood out and cut through their peers like they were sub-human and most of you are,,that is the truth. It is not your fault; it's your parents and a society that has worked hard to dumb you down.

Again, I don't know what is going to happen but this generation appears mostly prepared for being clerks and slaves. However, I would really like to be proven wrong and not just the source of telling you a painful truth.

Now go show us or wait a little while, Major Wars always glean the wheat from the whatever and a World War and Civil War is just around the corner....it's okay to think I am kidding.

Sure, I do...fight my way outta that recycled paper bag that I will fill with Styrofoam cups and records from 80's then load that with 20 cans of hairspray then pour flammable liquid all over it then set it down in front of the dumb young eco hippies who really cant understand that their parents are paying out their asses for them to get their education in turn only for them to shout statements they can't back up in your face while walking down state street on your lunch break, and I will set that bitch on fire and sing out loud for them all to hear "Rock you like a hurricane" cause I can.

I have a much more amusing solution.. let us old farts turn off the electricity for 72 hours. Everyone under 30 would be rocking back and forth in the basement repeatedly pressing the "on" button on the PC or I-pod. I can hear it now.. clicking and crying across the nation....

these are the dreams old people have...

Best reply on this thread!!!!
You made my day, really! So bad I can give you only one star...
I mean no disrespect, I have two teenage boys myself. You don't even have to turn the electricity off, just take away their TV sets, their iPod's and the internet....I mean, only the Facebook and Youtube; they won't know what to do with themselves, for crying out loud. There will be mass suicides across the nations.

Don't worry, kids, your time will come to rule the world too. I only hope to still be around, watching from aside and having fun....

I have no answers, all I know is young people need to start understanding that education is extremely important and that the world doesn't revolve around them. Understanding a positive attitude, basic manners and respect is the hallmark for living in harmony. They need to understand that solving disputes with violence is taking a step backwards in human social progress in a civilized society. The need to stop imitating poor role models, and always questioning "what's in it for me?" Without good work ethics and motivation, the world as a whole will not prosper.

I've been meaning to reply to this but you know putting the 20 somethings through college and paying the bills by working a full-time job took precedence. You'll find that out someday. I'm good with your idea as long as I don't have to pay for two college educations and taxes anymore. Just take the money I work hard for and be on my merry way and you kids can have at it.
