I typically only lurk on here, but I couldnt NOT reply to this one.

Ive been struggling with this thought for about 3 months now. I HONESTLY think that the older generations are preventing us from evolving and living up to what Humans are capable of.

For example: I work in Electronic retail (Ill leave which company it is up to your imagination.) I constantly meet older people who dont know anything about Wi-Fi. Every so often (once a week or so) I will actually get someone who wants me to explain the Internet to them. Im a very strong believer in technology being man-kinds future. How can we fulfill all of the things we are capable of if we are being suppressed.

Reading remarks on here like 'what are you smoking?' This WREAKS of ignorance.

When we listen to our souls, and our brains, when we start thinking for ourselves is when we start seeing whats truly important. The survival of our species depends on it.

Long live the generation that opens its eyes and realizes we all deserve to be free.

Here is what would happen if the young ruled the world and I believe they are already operating like this to some extent... it is why the older folks shake their heads and almost gag when they see some kid walking around with their pants around their ankles - thanking Gd that they will be loong gone by the time the repercussions of their world effecting decisions take place!!

Hmmm.... I suppose you think what you are experiencing at your job is a new thing?

When the first motorized vehicles were seen on the streets, I suppose the people automatically knew how to drive them.

When AirConditioners first hit the scene, everyone knew exactly how they worked. When Electricity was running through homes, everyone knew exactly how it worked as well.

Airplanes, how simple! When they came out, everyone knew exactly how they work as well! Same for the Microwave Ovens, Running Water, Telephones, Atomic Energy, etc.

In your infinite wisdom, can you please explain to me how Anti-Gravity Technology and Faster Than Light travel will work... so I can get off the planet if it is ever ran by children?

Thanks in advance!

Well, watching alot of the kids these days, I don't see that. I see the youth casting out, and relentlessly bullying kids that are different, until they end up killing themselves. I see the youth of today using technology not to better the world, but to film themselves beating each other, or peeing on their friends when they sleep, etc. Around 30 you are barely leveling out as far as hormones and emotions are concerned. That's when you can start viewing things a little more through a logical perspective.

Your generation is weaker individually; thus, your sudden push for socialism and online collectivism. I can function without being connected for years. Can you?

We were driven to make information technology. Your generation is not driven with any type of revolutionary ideas. Where is your generation's breakthrough in technology, which does not relate to evolving information systems or communication devices?

I assumed the new generation knew how to quote on ATS. However you are new here so maybe there are a few "modern" things you have yet to learn. If you wish me to understand what you mean instead of what you say, I am not sure I can do that. With wisdom comes the ability to adequately express one's self.

**Takes a look at the few current bellow 25's he knows, turns slowly to the OP**

Hell fricken no...

Im one of those early 30's, lived my early life in the 80's, my teens in the 90's and began my adult life in the 00's

Even the worst SoBs I knew as I grew up are nothing compared to the idiots that are the majority of the current generation. Sure the current crop of oldies running the world are hardly fit for the job but given a choice... Ill stick with them rather than hand over the reigns to the babbling mass of txting facebook incompetence and self righteous stupidity, ignorance and self entitlement, self absorbed youngsters.

Thats harsh but its a fact, and i used to be someone who had similar ideas to the OP back in the early 90's... I soon wised up, they will too...

As my older brother says of the current younger generation, they take offense at everything, and responsibility for nothing. You really want that controlling and deciding the course of society... the thought of my 20 year old sisters being in positions of power makes my blood run cold, and they grew up in a good household but are still very much unsuitable.

If it was the PTBs grand design to get the perfect controllable generation... theyve pretty much succeeded in this current lot.

Oh and I dont think all young people are bad, far from it, its just the balance is tipped very much towards the idiots.

Young people (in their 20's) take over?

Would that be the same ones who went out and got $100,000 in debt for college before they even earned a dime?

Would it be the ones who have three maxed-out credit cards and are two months behind on the minimum payments on each?

Would it be the same ones who can't control their snot-nosed brats they drag into WalMart screaming till they get what they want?

Would it be the same ones who "walked away" on their obligation to pay on their mortgage loan because the value of the home took a dip?

Would that be the same ones who just declared bankruptcy and now want to move back in with their parents?

The same parents they now so easily demean as incapable?

Is that the ones the OP is talking about?

I completely agree. Our society worldwide needs to be completely restructured.

Okay, now I see all of these responses referring to people in school and college NOW. So that would be the 16-22 year olds? Yes. They are mostly very naive, and looking for handouts.. but not all of them!

I think it clearly says "20-30 year olds" which DOES make sense to me.

I am 27, and the general thought among me and my peers is we are fighting old grudges of the leaders from 20 years ago!!! Still going to war over OIL!?

I personally think a government based on philosophy, science, and art would be ideal. BY THE PEOPLE. FOR THE PEOPLE. Not based on archetypical religions that all contradict eachother, not to mention the major religious players just want to KILL eachother off! How does that benefit anyone as a whole!?

We need to advance beyond this rut we are stuck in and open our skies to greater things!

Peace. Happiness. Equality.

I just know that I am sick of pursuing happiness. It's time for all of us to bask in it.

I am a late 50 something, and agree that things are screwed up, but I refuse to take credit for it. I would however, be most interested in just who is pulling the strings, because it was not ME or anyone I know personally. The root of the problems that the "younger generations" find most vexing is that money is not circulating in the current economy. It is just being concentrated into fewer hands, and that is not only screwing the 20-40 year old's, it is screwing me too. Everything I worked for was either stolen (my pension) being stolen (my real estate) or rendered valueless or taxed away (my savings and investments). Does this sound like something my personal peer group arranged by ourselves, for ourselves? It certainly was not, but somewhere at the top the game was rigged. My responsibility lies in not stopping them, which was hopeless for me as an individual, and probably illegal too. Patriotism has been subverted into "fight our (immoral) wars" with a smile on your face. WRONG! Patriotism is doing what is BEST for the country. Importing energy, exporting jobs, and selling off our ability to produce our own goods is NOT patriotic. I did none of that, but I do understand that each year I work, $7000 of my income is being transferred to people who are already OBSCENELY WEALTHY. All I can say is watch out, the obscenely wealthy have no mercy, no allegiance, and no conscience. If you are not contributing to them willingly, and conveniently, they WANT YOU DEAD. The patriotic thing to do would be to stay here and fix what is broken, but maybe the only option is to get out (while you can). You have a good start, by questioning EVERYTHING!

Isn't this funny? 20 pages of near nothing in response to the delusions of a stupid little teenage (party?) girl. What's the expression? "Gag me with a spoon." Why would anybody waste time on an idea this worthless? Or waste any time with a girl tike PG for that matter. Her name says plenty about a future both bleak and certain.

But well deserved. Funny the sheet that's heard when these kids open their mouths. It leaves us oldsters laughing at their uneducated near ignorance, because fortunately, the system is set-up to make sure that we get everything we've worked a lifetime for, and for as long as it takes to get it, and then we'll die.

Knowing that the under 40's simply don't have the ability to make anything right again. Not because things can't be made right... because I guarantee that we, or our our fathers, could do it... but we lived our lives with competent people that knew how to get things done, and that brings an absolutely certain knowledge that the last 4 generations can't. Both literally and figuratively, they can not.

And nobody is betting otherwise either. Most of the kids aren't worth a damn and their shortcomings should be overwhelming obvious to anyone with a brain. Realistically evaluating the Mass of under 40's, can any reasonable person conclude that these kids deserve anything except the empty bag they've been left holding. They've been produced as cannon fodder, nothing more. .

As a 24 year old I will agree to disagree to agree!

I do understand the generation in power has screwed up life for us and perhaps the next generation up will learn from their mistakes. I do know that the people screwing up our world are over 60 but they also make the majority.

We need to stand up before it is too late for our generation. However I don't think a person between 20-40 should be in power. The reason is experience, knowledge, and character. A person hasn't had enough experience in life until he/she reaches 40+. I am not saying anyone under 40 is inexperienced but they don't have as much life experience as someone who has been in the game for 10 years longer.

We need people to represent us who know what is going on in the world around them. We don't need another puppet president instilled by the corporate side of reality.

Again I understand where you are coming from but it matters a lot when it comes to age.

Great post! 40+ is a very young and good time to see the world for all it is. I do want to say the the generation in power today is not solely responsible for screwing hings up... look into mankind's history... the power structure has been here for a very long time. Look into the Roman Empire, early religions, Earth's kingdoms and lineage... the power and control of humanity has not takien place in one short generation. We have been sheeple for a very long time... but still we can wake up and make changes....

Perhaps and rightfully so, they have figured out that they do not need to work to get plenty of free government handouts. Working interferes with XBOX time.

As you pick at what I write and assume I havent already entertained the ideas you posted, please remember that Wi-Fi came around in 1999. I was 10 years old.

The older generation as a whole has no excuse for ignorance just as my generation doesnt.

Source for Wi-Fi: en.wikipedia.org...

Older generations are locked in to believing that technology comes from Lucifer himself. Ive had numerous experiences with this recently and in the past. As long as humans define whats possible/moral and what human rights someone should or shouldnt have based on DOCTRINE we will never evolve.
