In today's Washington Times there is an editorial

Too often, it seems city officials in Washington would like to forget they must operate under the Constitution. The District has gone out of its way to deny residents any meaningful ability to protect themselves at home with a firearm, prompting the Second Amendment Foundation to file a lawsuit on Tuesday to allow gun purchases in the nation’s capital.

three years ago the landmark District of Columbia v. Heller case was supposed to have settled this mess... the court basically said residents of D.C. had the right to purchase legally own firearms to protect themselves and their property... however...

thanks to city Zoning laws they have made it impossible to open a retail gun store in D.C. With no gun stores, the only way to obtain a pistol lawfully is to make a purchase in another state and have the gun shipped to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder in the District. A federal law prohibits acquisition of a firearm across state lines in any other way.

now here comes the rub... the only FFL holder doing business in Washington recently lost his lease...
with them gone so is the only legal means to acquire a handgun in D.C.

In steps the Second Amendment Foundation arguing that their client, Michelle Lane, is being denied
equal protection of the laws because of where she lives.

Miss Lane ordered two handguns months ago, before this FFL dealer was forced out and now she's stuck. unable to collect her property, namely the weapons she bought and paid for...

My thoughts on this mess is those in a position have never denied themselves the right to keep and bare arms, to protect their families and all that they own... but they choose not to extend that right to we little guys, we working stiffs, we common men and women.... It is high time the city officials there in D.C. learn they have to abide by all that is in our "Bill of right"s rather than reserving those rights just for their elitist class.

With the new Justices that are both pretty anti-gun. It doesnt really surprise me.

Good find though

Star and a Flag, we need to get these stories out there. The fine people of DC are having their rights infringed upon just because the most well protected of us live near by.

Amazing the SCOTUS can tell DC to quit acting like a whining child and they just go on acting like a whining child.

At this point it's just easier to move.

Leave DC to the tie wearing scumbag politicians and the crack pushing, gun toting gangsters.
