makes me think of the angels coming to save the innocent before the 7 years of hell or w/e

Interesting, perhaps that can also be put down as an explanation as to the how the Mayans vanished, leaving us the gud ol "doomsday" calender as a reminder of what's to come.

I was actually referring to the great ancient Mayan civilization that collapsed. And how scientists, have speculated what may have been the cause of the collapse.

Scientists have hypothesized the collapse due to:

Mayan Collapse

- Foreign invasion
- Peasant revolt, revolution, or social turmoil
- Collapse of trade routes
- Epidemic diseases..
- Systemic ecological collapse model

etc, etc.

As it may have seem, I did not mean the extinction of the Mayan people and I'm aware of the extistance of the Mayan people.

Never the less, apart from the mainstream hypothesis, other possibilities involved ET's and or a race of subterranean beings, as being the cause of the eventually collapse or the reason for the abandoning of large of part of the ancient cities spanned across the Mayan Empire.

So this are just hypothesis, so we never know what really happened. Which leads me to point out that, perhaps this maybe a cause...no matter how far fetched it seems, building depictions and local folklore's about mythical gods...can support this, as a possibility.
