I love sharing the new information I learn every day with people, so I decided to open up this thread so that we can all do it together. My first fun fact:

There is a species on this planet that has over 500 possible genders!

Beneath the lilies lies a rotting log, home to a tiny organism that isn’t a plant or an animal or a fungus. It looks like a blob of scrambled eggs, but in fact it’s a slime mold (genus Physarum), an otherworldly creature with 29 variants of sex-controlling genes, dispersed among eight different types of sex cells. To ensure genetic diversity, each slime mold sex cell can only fuse with a sex cell that has completely different variants of genes than its own. If you calculate all the possible combinations of genes and sex cells, you will find that Physarum have more than 500 different sexes. Reproduction for slime molds may be complicated, but it’s never boring.

I always found it interesting that there is actually an underground river right beneath the Nile in Egypt that carries about six times more water, making it essentially a two story river.

The Wicked Bible was an attempted printing of the KJV Bible, but it had one mistake.

Thou shalt commit adultery

Most of the copies were destroyed, the guys who printed it got fined. You can still find some copies of it running around, one was even up for sale last year (for nearly $90,000).

Very interesting.

Similar to that, i watched an interesting documentary a while back on "The Devil's Bible"

Apparently written by a man in a night, and he had to sell his soul to the devil to be able to write it

"Codex Gigas"

Not so much a fact, as a myth
but the scripture is there.

Today's fact: In Australia, women with breasts smaller than a B cup in their 20s are not allowed to participate in pornographic movies because lawmakers feared that flat-chested women might promote pedophilia.

Maybe some of you didn't know,,,, After Mao's death in 1976, his wife, Jiang Qing or Madame Mao, was arrested and charged with being a Counter-Revolutionary or you could say Treason.

She and others arrested with her were sentenced to be executed, her sentence was commuted to life imprisonment in 1983.
I remember in 1991, she was released for medical treatment, but, before she was returned to prison, she committed Suicide.

Fun fact....A 24th State of the American Union existed in Sussex England.

After a row with Crown over taxes the residents of a shingle spit in Hastings ran up the stars and stripes in the 1800s and declared themselves the 24th State of the American Union..

It took the Crown Inquisition 7 years to reclaim the land which is still known as the America Ground..
