13 killed in clash at US/Mexico border

Twelve suspected members of the Zetas drug gang and a member of Mexico's Navy were killed in a shootout on an island in a lake that straddles the U.S.-Mexico border, authorities said Monday.

The Mexican Navy said the shootout occurred Sunday on Falcon Lake, located between Texas and the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, after troops patrolling the area spotted a camping area on an island.

Cause the cartel has better guns than our National guard... plus I assume they think it was open another front too close too home for the gov to handle the blow back

That is the same place that the American couple was attacked and he was killed a few months ago. At that time the Mexican authorities tried to deny all of it. The news media and some people in general accused her of making it up and some even accused her of killing him. It was bad enough to lose your husband in such a terrible manner then being a victim of a crime and rediculed.

There is more enforcement people on our side of the border than there has been since Black Jack Pershing was down there in 1916 chasing around after Pancho Villa... I really loved going to Baghdad Beach and Matamoros but Juarez and Laredo never were pleasurable to go to... Tejuana sucks too.
