I have seen so many posts regarding the MSM on ATS and of course the internet. Also a great thread currently on ATS about the Net being the last hope for Real News:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I have been through the wringer with the MSM as many of you have as well.

I know I'm not the only one tuning into CNN, Fox, CTV just to mention a few, and sitting back shocked and speechless at what the newest popularity contest in propaganda might be for the day.

I can't count the number of times I have looked at my wife and said "Are they !@*%$* Kidding me? That's a lie! How do they make this crap up?" And so on.

I can't count the number of times I wanted to pick up the TV and throw it out the window. My wife gets a little concerned when I start arguing and yelling at the TV also. lol

Can't blame her.

Which brings me to my point. I have learned to use the MSM as a tool, a BS measuring stick so to speak. I have found it to be a great tool for seeing into the workings of TPTB.

It's actually quite easy and useful to use the MSM to your advantage. Read between the lines!

When I see something that I know is BS, I know TPTB are trying to hide something.

When I see conflicting info and time-lines (OBL Death for example) I know something's up.

When I read something on the NET from 27 different sources all reporting the same thing and the story is different on the MSM, something doesn't smell right. If the MSM isn't reporting on it at all, it smells even worse.

Why do this? Why even tune in to know you're going to be lied to? Simple. It tells me what a good majority of people are thinking and feeling as so many still believe what they are seeing on the MSM.

Also, and more importantly, it tells me what TPTB are trying to hide from the masses. It's only a short step to the NET to find out what is being hidden and why they're hiding it. What's the diversion today? etc.

A very fitting expression comes to mind:

"Better the Devil you know than the Devil you don't"

If you know you're being lied to, you have the advantage.

When all is said and done and after I have turned off the MSM swill, I come home to ATS, sort through the threads (yeah, I know ya gotta look real hard sometimes) and find the REAL NEWS. We all use different sites to corroborate our findings but that's how we get to the truth and Deny Ignorance, right?

In closing, I would just like to say...Thank you to ATS and so many members for being there when we need to know the REAL NEWS.

I'd say the same way conspiracy theorists do, but the number of stories that get broadcasted on various news stations are very rarely wrong, with obvious exceptions etc.

I have found it to be a great tool for seeing into the workings of TPTB.

So instead of actually observing a news story, you just disregard the story, and then pretend you know what an all-powerful cabal of nefarious and obviously hidden world leaders want?

It's actually quite easy and useful to use the MSM to your advantage. Read between the lines!

Translation - change anything that conflicts with your beliefs regardless of evidence or consequence

When I see something that I know is BS, I know TPTB are trying to hide something.

As much as I'd love making a claim about the validity of a story before I hear it, I cannot, because I'm not a wizard like you.

When I see conflicting info and time-lines (OBL Death for example) I know something's up.

I'd be more surprised if the details were extremely accurate and perfect within hours of his assassination. I'd imagine your definition of "knowing something's up" is "making my own story to keep my beliefs safe"

When I read something on the NET from 27 different sources all reporting the same thing and the story is different on the MSM, something doesn't smell right. If the MSM isn't reporting on it at all, it smells even worse.

I find this use of the term "mainstream media" laughable. Anything you disagree with is "MSM" and anything you agree with isn't.

PS: Conspiracy theorists never have a straight story.

Why do this?

I enjoy watching several news stations actually.

Why even tune in to know you're going to be lied to?

Again assuming anything you disagree with means it's automatically a lie.

It tells me what a good majority of people are thinking and feeling as so many still believe what they are seeing on the MSM

Considering the track record of "MSM" compared to conspiracy sites, I'd take that as a compliment.

It's only a short step to the NET to find out what is being hidden why they're hiding it.

Yes, why watch "MSM" to tell you stories when you can go to conspiracy sites and have whatever belief you hold be reinforced by irrational ideas and insane viewpoints.

When all is said and done and after I have turned off the MSM swill, I come home to ATS, sort through the threads (yeah, I know ya gotta look real hard sometimes) and find the REAL NEWS

If you come to ATS for your news, god help you.

We all use different sites to corroborate our findings but that's how we get to the truth and Deny Ignorance, right?

It's a conspiracy site where conspiracy theorists exchange conspiracies that have been obviously shunned by the rest of the world, for good reason, they're illogical and unreasonable at best.

Thank you to ATS and so many members for being there when we need to know the REAL NEWS.

Yes, real news...I could make a topic about being and alien and saying Jesus was a shapeshifting freemason kangaroo and that Obama was born in Somalia to evil pirates who have come to America just to give you socialism and get stars and flags...

Ok, so more importantly...Why are you on ATS? Curious.

I don't think you watch as much MSM as you are saying because if you did, you would understand the thread.

Do I expect to be lied to when I watch CNN? Absolutely. Blatant lies? Not always. But not reporting ALL the facts is the same as a lie IMO.

Not reporting something is the same thing as a lie. It's preferential treatment with an agenda.

When you have someone like Anderson Cooper arguing and trying to shut someone up while they state their opinion, it's a lie.

I really don't have to go in to the whole OBL debacle do I? Changing of Time-lines, photos, 4 yr old vids etc.

And on and on...

Yes I know ATS is a conspiracy site. Absolutely and no argument from me. But, it also has a lot of current, breaking news that is factual. We would never see a lot of it unless it was here.

Conspiracies? Sure. Until some are proven to be correct. Aliens eating babies and God coming on May 21st are also hard to swallow for me so I will give you that one.

No I do not think I am always correct, nor do I think the MSM is always wrong. But the people assuming that what they see on FOX is always the truth are the same as people believing everything on ATS is a conspiracy.
