A grenade lobbed into a crowded pedestrian area of the central shopping district of Prague has caused at least 18 injuries, including five Britons and
citizens of the U.S., Germany and Slovakia. The attack is believed to have been gang related.

Emergency crews are at the scene just off Prague's central Wenceslas Square.
"Sixteen or 17 people were injured, all of them lightly. Most of them were hit by shrapnel or glass from the explosion," an emergency services
spokesman said.
Police have cordoned off the area.

Most of those injured in the blast near Wenceslas Square were not thought to be seriously hurt. Two were Britons.
Initial reports suggest police are not treating the incident as terror-related but due to criminal activity. "
