not the first time, not the last.

Yes you are 100% correct. It is our desire to be a global economy that has created the mess we're in. The US is in a unique position to be able to be almost 100% isolationist and still survive. Not only that, it would be the other nations of the world that would suffer if we did that.

We need to start creating consequences for the cheap labor that other countries provide. Implement high import tariffs on anything coming from over countries with poor labor practices. Watch how quickly our hom eindustry would boom again. Yes, prices for goods would go up, but so would wages, job availability GDP etc..

Then get rid of the corporate tax, implement true anti trust practices and implement a flat tax for EVERY employed citizen and this nation could rebound greater than ever before.

Jaden

We need to re-establish our manufacturing base and buy more of our own product the way the Japanese do (did, not sure how this nuclear plant crisis will affect them) instead of buying everyone else's stuff. But we need to go back to producing good quality and not stuff with planned obsolescence. I remember decades ago when everyone said to buy American, I bought an American car and the timing chain broke more than once. We need to care again about our product, and learn to compete with foreigners. We need to rid ourselves of a lot of govt bureaucracy.

If America fails I say SWEET!!! Bring on some anarchy. At least it could be interesting and exciting for awhile and maybe, just maybe people could come to realize what is really important in this life.

Might be the best thing that ever happened to the world after sex!!!

You never know. Could be.

It isn't just economical, our military too is on the verge of collapse due to failure to enlist and retain individuals. Sure the military can easily get people around the 90-100 IQ bracket, but they are useless both as technicians and in field combat. A draft would most likely start a civil war as I don't see young American males as being draftable(even if it was a gender neutral draft, I don't see the US has having the moral authority to ask or force it's son's to fight for it any more).

So that means China will have a free hand in Asia/Africa(I could see Latin American countries putting up a fierce resistance to any Chinese Imperialism), meaning Aussies should start learning Mandarin as it will probably become your new official language before the century is out.

Russia will probably have a go towards Eastern Europe and parts of the Middle East. Heck we could very well see the liberation of Constantinople in our time, as Western Europe will most likely capitulate to Russian Imperialism to avoid a nuke war(as those countries themselves won't be able to field armies and attempts at male conscription would lead to mass protest's in their own societies).

For the rest of the world it will suck horribly. Imagine all the nations that really don't like one another, or all the nations that wouldn't mind trying to grab land from a neighboring nation, but are only held in check due to fear of American retaliation. It will be like a dam bursting.

In America it would kind of suck, but we are sitting behind enough nukes, bio weapons and chem weapons that most would just leave us be. So in that respect the "collapse" of America might be a good thing for American's. We might finally know real peace.

Oh my goodness, eat more bran!

As far as isolationsim.
Oh, there are reasonable ways in which the U.S. could isolate and rebuild. If you haven't seen a study lately it could be because globalism has held sway for a very long time now and in the ivory towers of the world where such studies are funded, undertaken, and published globalist views are even more popular. Or perhaps you expected Gates' Gavi organization to take up that banner. They were far too busy with roof top dinners in Switzerland and on the ground analysis in Uganda... all the while fretting over the carbon emissions of their frequent flying. And if you did get a study, what then? "Lies, lies, and damn statistics". Studies aren't that impressive to me. I have seen my share of the inner workings of how some of these things get put together. Popular thought gets published. Nothing ground breaking to see. Move along.

China hasn't fought a major war in a while.
They trade but other than that they expect the rest of the world to stay out of their face.
Have you checked the growth rate on their GDP lately? I could do more than toast marshmellows on that fire.

I'm so glad you brought up China. When you mentioned their GDP was growing like wildfire, I couldn't help but think... gee... if China's GDP is doing that I'll bet their spending to GDP ratio is low. I looked it up and what do you know... it was one of the lowest on the list.

You live in polar opposite land! Free market economists have zero to do with pro-regulation economists. Its pro-regulation ideas that dominate corporations, the governments, and the news media. The pro-regulators are the ones calling the shots. And here you sit saying the studies are biased. Are you freakin' kidding me! Yeah, the studies are biased AGAINST the free market. Big business loves regulation because it keeps them on top and the little guys down. I welcome you to get together with me and study this issue. There is a lot I have not looked at. What do you think the corporate lobbyists are doing all day long? They are thinking up legislation that regulates the markets in a way that benefits their employer. And the reason they are paid big bucks is because their lobbying pays off.

Also, I don't see how you taking credit for things you didn't do is semantics. It isn't. Your use of "we" is a mind game developed by control freaks to manipulate people into accepting their ideas and their commands. "We" need to do this. "We need to eat lots of bran." Its not a semantics game, its a mind game... one used to control others against their will. When I notice people using that mind game they are unwillingly sucked into and adapt, I call it out.

You say you could think of isolationist policies that would benefit people inside the US borders. Please don't hold back. Much in the same way I anticipate a free energy machine that will give us free infinite wealth, I anticipate you providing me with a system of isolationism that benefits the US general public in any way. And as I said, the studies are stacked in a bias against free market economics and for isolationism because most economists think they can come up with a series of convenient knobs and dials that regulate an economy to prosperity.

I found it. It's the one where they were bashing Americans for celebrating the death of OBL.

And ya know everyone seems to be whining about how we go take oil from these countries, but it was Russia and China who got the contracts from Iraq while we did all the hard work. So how is it no one criticizes Russia and China going in and getting these contracts with zero effort? People swallow the lies of the media more than they know.

And what do people think Russia was in Afghanistan for???? All the Superpowers are fighting over resources. The USA has to come under fire because the Soviets lost and Soros wants to eat our lunch now. www.atimes.com...

Yes, it's all engineered, as have been most of the world's conflicts the last few hundred years. They are globalists, and they do not care about anyone's National Sovereignty. It is historical that the Rothschilds have benefited from wars, starting with the Napoleonic wars, where they ran the couriers there and knew all the secrets. Soros started with some of the smaller fish, and now he is working very hard on America. Someone brought a recent May Day rally to my attention. So instead of it being just a rally for "undocumented workers", they have added SEIU and CPUSA.

The dissolution of the United States is only the beginning; crashing the USD is the death knell. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this recession, isn't a recession at all. The main problem I see with many posters is that they seem to think the U.S. government has the people's best interests in mind; since when has that EVER been the case? The U.S. is a franchise run by international bankers. Take in to consideration: the housing market crash, USD nosedive, bailouts (something like $8 trillion in bailout money missing from the fed), two wars --all carefully planned to crash our republic.

Read up on Goldman-Sachs. Many of their former employees have held and currently hold powerful positions in executive administration (Henry Paulson is one example).

After collapse there will be an obvious need for a new currency by the many nations that once depended on the collar. The new currency will be a world currency, it will be quickly accepted by the international community to save them too from certain collapse. From this point one could expect incremental socialism, slowly but surely, nations will be be dissolved around this currency in the form of a new world government, a new world order.

I have to go against the grain on this one guys, I dont think America will ever fall to the extent where total collapse is unavoidable, i think at most it will be weakened to a state where we are no longer at the top. At worst we will be second or third down the ladder. Here is my reasons for this.

1. The world can not afford to have the US collapse, the US is the number one consumer in the world. This would effect every other economy on earth. The less we buy the less they(like china) are needed to employ millions to manufacuture. If our economy slows so does everyone elses. Countries like china would have to be 100% self sufficiant and they have a long way to go before they have that luxury.

2. Oil is NOT our major concern as most people would think. In fact the USGS found a large surplus of oil in the wyoming area of the US that was thought to be only a few millions of barrels. However just this past year the USGS stated that there findings were wrong. IN fact there is so much oil there the US could actually have more oil than saudi Arabia, although this oil is trapped in rock and is hard to mine it can be done. So really we dont need everyone elses oil, we just like using theres first. Remember our tanks, trucks , jeeps, jets, some ships and rockets drink oil at a fast pace, its a race of attrition. And we want to have ours to use still when everyone has none.
www.nextenergynews.com...

3. WAR!! If america were to get so weak that it is in danger of attack the economy could explode!! We all know what helped us get out of the great depression? WWII did. Especially if we were facing multiple enemys with large armys. The amount of production that would be requested would be astronomical.

4. Our debt- yeah so china owns 80% of it and this is actually a rather big deal, however if the US was in dire need to get the cash flow coming in again it could take drastic measures to adjust. These are the ideas that never make the news or get talked about. Like we just STOP borrowing from countries all together. Just like cutting up your credit card. No bill=more money! This could anger and make other countries very unstable.

5.Americans are the most goal oriented, dream driven people on earth if americans want something they will work for it and get it done, we tend to work better when we get knocked down. As hitler stated(I dont like to quote him, but he did have his few moments of clarity) He stated he feared America greatly because everyone on the planet with ambition moved to the land where you could make your world from the ground up, this is the land where the strong gathered.

Nice world currency would be a great idea, but some countries dont liek being told what to do. This would helo the situation greatly.

The US would have to lose money in order to make money and many ppl on capital hill wont like that idea to much....to many hands in the cookie jar.

The US govt won't cut up its credit cards. That is part of the problem. So many people have bashed the Tea Parties when the major issue of every Tea Party is overspending of govt and ever higher taxations and regulations. Where is Big Sis in understanding that? Why do so many here even who know about the NWO still insist on bashing the very group that is the most concerned about the govt spending out of its means? Republicans want to cap some spending but Dems refuse refuse refuse and Dems want their Socialist entitlements and bigger govt. The very people who are protesting this outrageous behavior are the Tea Party.

We should recall all debt previously forgiven to countries all over the world and demand it be subtracted from our current responsibilities.
I guess that would pretty much take care of it.After all we are still giving money to many nations

They won't have any choice but to accept the new currency if they want to survive. Imagine the benefits of joining a league of nations all using one currency versus producing their own.

As far as politicians having something to lose from this implementation, the majority of them are already neck-deep in special interests; you don't think that they would reap the benefits from this economic coup d'etat?

If the kings want there people to war they will war
If the kings want there people to be scared they will be scared

"Good point. Many around the world dont understand that ever since the introduction of the US dollar as the reserve currency, which in turn tied the markets into a " global " market, if we fall, then all others will follow suit."

Well spoken my friend. Iv'e just been seeing a lot of people on here praising the idea of America falling, but fear they don't fully understand the things to come if that does indeed happen. Like you stated we are all tied together in a global market and if we fall I can promise we won't be alone. Be careful what you wish for people....you just might get it...

Yes, there are a bunch of anti American people who rummage through this forum looking for ways to criticize America and Americans.
ok I edited this to give the guy a break.

I'm pretty sure you're not referring to me (the OP) in your claim that "... are a bunch of anti americans rummaging through this forum ..."

I'm fairly certain that, prior to making such a broad sweeping statement, you would have read through the entirety of my post.

Namely the fact that I stood side by side my American brothers, and lamented with them in their pain post 9/11, as I stalked the hills of Afghanistan with them.

I sat with them, I consoled them, I shared a brotherhood born of battle.

And, to be completely f***ing blunt, I'm sick of people like you attacking me for EXPRESSING MY OWN POINT OF VIEW - a point of view which is SHARED by members of the special forces fraternity in YOUR MILITARY.

So, swallow your false patriotism, and understand that critisism of your country is, at times, justified - and if you continue to bury your hand in the sand, and sit on your flimsy pedestal, you will buckle and fall under the inevitable tide which claims all short sited people.

/end of rant
