Zooming in on the Pre 9/11 article

Osama Bin Laden, the exiled Saudi dissident and America's most wanted man is, a leading news magazine claims, "dying of kidney failure". Quoting "a Western intelligence source who has been tracking him", Asiaweek says in its latest edition that Mr Bin Laden's associates have been trying to obtain a kidney dialysis machine to alleviate his worsening condition. Asiaweek's unnamed source is quoted as saying "the man is dying" although he is still able to talk and hold meetings.

That should at least raise some eyebrows...

Unfortunately it won't convince many. This is why the world is going to hell in a hand basket. People want to be spoon fed information rather than see if it's actually has any truth to it.

This UBL mess is a complete lie to the people of the world and most won't even question it.

UBL was the least of our worries.
It's the one's telling us everything is okay that we need to be concerned about.

Shhhh. It's okay, go back to sleep, we'll take care of everything.

Another interesting article:

1) Objective evidence that he's dead:

After December 13, 2001, his regularly intercepted messages stopped.

On December 26, 2001, according to "a leading Pakistani newspaper" story, a prominent Taliban official said he attended his funeral.

Bin Laden, in fact, was very ill with kidney disease. In September 2001, CBS News anchor Dan Rather reported that he was admitted to a Rawalpindi, Pakistan hospital on September 10, 2001, and France's Le Figaro said:

"Dubai....was the backdrop of a secret meeting between Osama bin Laden and the local CIA agent in July (2001). A partner of the administration of the American Hospital....claims that (bin Laden) stayed (there) between the 4th and 14th of July (and) received visits from many members of his family as well as prominent Saudis and Emiratis. (During the same period), the local CIA agent, known to many in Dubai, was seen taking (the hospital's) main elevator (to) bin Laden's room."

Why not if he was a valued asset.

In July 2002, "CNN reported that (his) bodyguards had been captured in February of that year, adding: 'Sources believe that if the bodyguards were captured away from bin Laden, it is likely the most wanted man in the world is dead."

Finally, despite Washington offering a $25 million reward for information leading to his capture or killing, no one came forward.

(2) Testimonial evidence of his death:

In 2002, influential "people in a position to know" that he died included:

-- Pakistan President Musharraf;

-- FBI counterterrorism head Dale Watson;

-- Oliver North saying, "I'm certain that Osama is dead....and so are all the other guys I stay in touch with;"

-- Afghanistan President Karzai;

-- Israeli intelligence saying supposed bin Laden messages were fake; and

-- Pakistan's ISI "confirm(ing) the death of....Osama bin Laden (and) attribut(ing) the reasons behind Washington's hiding (the truth) to the desire of (America's hawks) to use the issue of al Qaeda and international terrorism to invade Iraq."

Other evidence includes former CIA case officer Robert Baer telling National Public Radio (NPR): "Of course he's dead."

Then in March 2009, "former Foreign Service officer Angelo Codevilla published an essay in the American Spectator entitled 'Osama bin Elvis,' " saying:

"Seven years after (bin Laden's) last verifiable appearance among the living, there is more evidence of Elvis's presence among us than for his."

Also this, reported by CNN on 01/19/2002:

Musharraf: bin Laden likely dead

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) --Pakistan's president says he thinks
Osama bin Laden is most likely dead because the
suspected terrorist has been unable to get treatment for
his kidney disease.

"I think now, frankly, he is dead for the reason he is a ...
kidney patient," Gen. Pervez Musharraf said on Friday in an
interview with CNN.

Musharraf said Pakistan knew bin Laden took two dialysis
machines into Afghanistan. "One was specifically for his own
personal use," he said.

"I don't know if he has been getting all that treatment in
Afghanistan now. And the photographs that have been shown
of him on television show him extremely weak. ... I would
give the first priority that he is dead and the second priority
that he is alive somewhere in Afghanistan."

OBL´s death will be debated for a long time...

I guess the ones that attended his funeral will come forward sooner or later. I hope so.

Unless the CIA gets to them first... (Why the recent U.S. drone attack on Pakistan anyone?)

And to address the title of the thread, here's my question:
The man was rich
The man was resourceful
He was smart
He had contacts.

Then why would he not have arranged for a kidney transplant, even buying one on the black market? Is it forbidden in Islam?

Good question.

In his recent interview with AJ Dr. Steve Pieczenik mentiones several times OBL suffered from Marfan Syndrome and subsequent cardial, vein tissue and kidney problems. A transplant would not have saved his life. Interview

Interesting background on Pieczenik - he first blew the whistle on OBL way back in 2002 now again this week.

In his article of May 4, 2011, on Globalresearch.ca (7), Paul Joseph Watson, revealed that in April 2002, in an interview with Alex Jones, Dr. Steve R. Pieczenik, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State under three different administrations, had stated that Osama Bin Laden was suffering from a degenerative genetic disease, Marfan Syndrome, and had been dead for months. He has again publicly repeated that now after the triumphant Obama False Flag Operation and has also revealed that a top US general had told him that 9/11 was also a false flag operation. He says that he is prepared to tell a federal grand jury the name of that general as well as the facts of OBL’s death in December 2011. Pieczenik would be in a position to know, having personally met Bin Laden and worked with him during the proxy war against the Soviets in Afghanistan back in the early 80′s.

Pieczenik said that Osama Bin Laden died in 2001, “Not because special forces had killed him, but because as a physician I had known that the CIA physicians had treated him and it was on the intelligence roster that he had marfan syndrome,” adding that the US government knew Bin Laden was dead before they invaded Afghanistan.

“He died of marfan syndrome, Bush junior knew about it, the intelligence community knew about it,” said Pieczenik, noting how CIA physicians had visited Bin Laden in July 2001 at the American Hospital in Dubai.

“He was already very sick from marfan syndrome and he was already dying, so nobody had to kill him,” added Pieczenik, stating that Bin Laden died shortly after 9/11 in his Tora Bora cave complex (7).

It is STILL on the Fox website lol.

Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader.

"The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said.

Bin Laden, according to the source, was suffering from a serious lung complication and succumbed to the disease in mid-December, in the vicinity of the Tora Bora mountains. The source claimed that bin Laden was laid to rest honorably in his last abode and his grave was made as per his Wahabi belief.

About 30 close associates of bin Laden in Al Qaeda, including his most trusted and personal bodyguards, his family members and some "Taliban friends," attended the funeral rites. A volley of bullets was also fired to pay final tribute to the "great leader."

The Taliban source who claims to have seen bin Laden's face before burial said "he looked pale ... but calm, relaxed and confident."

Just to be clear on the confusion of the cause of death: yes, Marfan Syndrome could have caused complications in the lungs as well.

Lungs

Marfan syndrome is a risk factor for spontaneous pneumothorax. In spontaneous unilateral pneumothorax, air escapes from a lung and occupies the pleural space between the chest wall and a lung. The lung becomes partially compressed or collapsed. This can cause pain, shortness of breath, cyanosis, and, if not treated, death. Marfan syndrome has also been associated with sleep apnea and idiopathic obstructive lung disease.

News of Bin Laden's Death
and Funeral 10 days ago

Islamabad -
A prominent official in the Afghan Taleban movement announced yesterday the death of Osama bin Laden, the chief of al-Qa'da organization, stating that binLaden suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death. The official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated to The Observer of Pakistan that he had himself attended the funeral of bin Laden and saw his face prior to burial in Tora Bora 10 days ago. He mentioned that 30 of al-Qa'da fighters attended the burial as well as members of his family and some friends from the Taleban. In the farewell ceremony to his final rest guns were fired in the air. The official stated that it is difficult to pinpoint the burial location of bin Laden because according to the Wahhabi tradition no mark is left by the grave. He stressed that it is unlikely that the American forces would ever uncover any traces of bin Laden.
