Hopefully this will turn out to be nothing, but it is still alarming especially when they target our kids.
I am very skeptical of the motives behind this but as we all have seen before groups try to test the system before they do the real attack. This is in Washington D.C. a big target that will potentially give such groups tremendous prestige and media coverage if pulled off.
Well I will be waiting to see how this pans out. . .

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The FBI continues to investigate who is responsible for mailing at least 29 letters Thursday, and additional letters this morning, to Washington, D.C. schools, causing some school evacuations and tying up hundreds of hours of police and law enforcement resources. Shortly after noon on Thursday, May 5, 2011, the FBI’s National Capital Response Squad began responding with the Washington, D.C. Fire Department, the Metropolitan Police Department, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service to repeated calls from Washington, D.C. schools with concerns of suspicious letters containing a white powdery substance.

The addresses on the letters were printed, not handwritten. Each letter was addressed to a school and not a specific person. Further details on the content of the letters are not being released at this time because the investigation is pending. Seriously!

This apparently tied up the police, fire department, USPS and the FBI for some time. They went scrambling from location to location treating it as a viable attack for hours - great diversionary tactic!
One would now know about how long they would take to investigate and which agencies will be occupied.

This was on Thursday?

Seems to me that these incidents in the past have produced chem analysis results withing 24 hrs.

Could there be a reason that we still don't know what the 'substance is?'

I believe it isn't dangerous.

But still this seems deliberately off the media radar for some reason. . .
