After almost 100 years, Albert Einstein has been proven right. I like this what a mind Einstein had his visualisation of spinning objects like Earth could warp space and time around them.

The experiment took five decades and about $750 million to design and conduct. The results are in from NASA's Gravity Probe-B, a sort of gyroscope sent into orbit around the Earth to measure how the Earth and other massive bodies like it warp the space and time around them and how they actually - it's hard to believe - they actually drag it. They drag the space and time around them as they rotate it.

Anyhow you can read just as easily here

After almost 100 years, Albert Einstein has been proven right.

Actually, he was proved right almost from the outset. Experimental proofs of various tenets of the theories of Special and General Relativity have been coming in for about a century. This is merely the latest. However, it is important because it proves one of the more esoteric and dubious-sounding consequences of General Relativity: ‘frame dragging.’ The two relativity theories are as well-founded in experiment and observation as... quantum mechanics.

edit on 7/5/11 by Astyanax because: ‘proof’ is singular.
