Al-Awlaki targeted by U.S. military drone in Yemen

If this has been posted already mods are free to delete it...

A U.S. military drone fired a missile within the last two days in Yemen aimed at the U.S.-born radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, but the strike did not appear to have killed him, a U.S. official told CNN on Friday.

A U.S. defense official confirmed that the drone was under the control of the American military -- not the CIA.

The defense official said the strike appeared to have killed two al Qaeda operatives affiliated with al-Awlaki.

Obama's counterterrorism chief, Michael Leiter, has said al-Awlaki posed a bigger threat to the U.S. homeland than bin Laden did.

What do you guys think of this?

Another assassination attempt in a foreign country..
So al-Awlawki was more dangerous than BinLaden..
New boogeyman indeed..

Ooops just noticed a thread re: this here however the cnn link above has more detail. Al-Awlaki targeted in Yemen

Dining with the enemy: Al Qaeda leader linked to 9/11 hijackers 'was invited to the Pentagon for lunch after attacks'
An Al Qaeda leader who is one of the most wanted men in the world was invited for lunch at the Pentagon in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks, a new report has claimed.

New documents have been obtained which apparently detail how Anwar Al-Awlaki, the first American on the CIA's kill or capture list, rubbed shoulders with high-ranking military personnel just months after the atrocities.
