Yes, we are animals, but it doesn't mean we should "embrace" that fact and start acting like savages.

I;m not saying we should embrace the fact, I'm saying we shouldn't forget that fact.

If you saw a man walking down main street completely naked, which thought would pop into your head first? "Wow, look at him. What a free spirit, I admire that guy" or "WTF is wrong with him?".

I would probably think he was crazy and free...but the crazy part of my thoughts comes from conditioning through living in a society where we are so absolute about wearing clothes.

Besides, if we were all to walk around naked... where would we keep our wallets?

I'm not saying we should all just go around naked...I'm simply saying we should be allowed that choice.

To combat this, Governments are planning on making it illegal for any mother to give birth to a naked baby.

Anyone caught violating this rule will have to deal with the authorities and the gnashing, howling mobs of the politically correct.

No. Its about feminist using young kids to make their point. Has not one thing to do with kids watching naked women read the news at all. The kids parents should be raising kane if this were an issue at all, instead we have a collection of feminists using this "issue" to gain a little attention.

Naked News, of course, as opposed to the "adult content" that was normally on in that time-slot. What's "worse"? If you want to put it that way.

I live in South Africa, and a while back I was having a nice chilled night with my brother. Playing some game. Watching a dvd. And the next, we flick through the channels, and find a naked woman reading what they called news.
Slightly disconcerting, of course. But then again, as I said, this is in a time-slot that was quite famous for it's late-night movies. And having only four public channels does make one glaringly aware of all of this, so you can't really remain oblivious to it in any case.

Whether it brings up moral agenda's though, I don't think so. In an age where every child can easily use the internet on his phone to look at whatever he likes, having only to click on a button that confirms he's older than eighteen; this does not merit outrage. Surely, woman showing nothing more than their breasts, does not constitute wide-spread panic for our children's well-being. And cementing a chauvinistic belief that women are sex objects? Yes, maybe. But then what about Playboy, FHM, etc. Take your pick.

Maybe my take on it is a bit lackadaisical, but then I would question why you're letting your children watch television at midnight? And it's not just naked news by the way, but watch television too late in the evening with your parents, and you're plagued with cellphone adds that blatantly advertise pornography anyway.

My point, past all of this, is that severing the mere fingernail of the problem, won't solve it. If you have a problem, figure out a way to restructure our current society as a whole. I'll even join you on that one.
And if you don't have a problem, well, then you probably aren't reading much of this anyway...

At what piont between a baby having a breast in its mouth feeding and that same human turning 18, is it not okay to see a naked woman?

Its actually fine for kids to see sex related parts etc, just keep the baby making info under wraps till they understand.... we got this far right with these rules right?

my overall thoughts: It is YOUR OPINION of what is appropriate for your child, if you expose them to (or fail to prevent) anything YOU dont agree with, it is YOUR fault.

I understand the simple logic of "everyone should be naked" from the hedonists, but I think it's terribly flawed. There is reason for society to frown on nudity.

First off, it's a sign of barbarism. We evolved to shape our immediate surroundings towards our benefit. I'm talking about clothing. It helps us to keep cool, or not be sun burned, or acts as a layer of shielding between objects and our body, etc..not wearing clothing would mean....something is off with you.

But that's not a good enough reason for shunning these people. I honestly think it comes down to eugenics and population control. If everyone was walking around naked, men would have boners 24/7 and be much more promiscuous. The more partners we have, the more weakened our species becomes from STD's. So it's a means of steering our species in the right direction.

People don't think deep enough about these things, and give up. They don't see reason in what used to be common sense. At one point, we learn the lesson the hard way, then forget over the generations, but keep with the "common sense" bit. Well, we become so off on so many things, that we lose our moral compass, and the common sense becomes eroded. So the social structure collapses, and the cycle repeats.

I disagree. Our taboo'ed treatment of sex and the human body is the reason it's such an arousing thing. If it were commonplace and treated as normal and health, like at nudist colonies, it would effectively become boring and a non-issue. Studies mentioned on Mysterious Universe (sorry I don't have them handy at the moment) have shown that nudist teens are typically better adjusted as well as more comfortable with their own bodies. Our prudishness yields a 'forbidden fruit' aspect.

You also have to consider that most people, sadly, are not actually all that attractive naked. When's the last time you ever heard of rampant orgies or sexual breakouts at nudist colonies? How about those 'brutish' natives that tend to go mostly naked? To me, it seems as though they live both more in touch with the world itself, as well as less paranoid about the human body than we do.

I dont think so. If everyone was walking around naked, then naked body would not be so strongly associated with sexuality, and people would maybe look beyond superficial body attributes for attraction. Just look at nudist communities, or those tribes where being naked is the norm.

Blacks being subhuman or homosexuals being imprisoned also used to be common sense. Contrary to popular beliefs, past generations were more stupid, naive and brainwashed than we are. It's not just women that report the news for this program naked. Men do as well. Men also have sex on film, model in revealing clothing, etc. We aren't looked at as sex objects.

Just because some people are WILLING to do something does not make that a good thing for society.

When are we going to start taking responsibility for the things we expose not only our children's minds to. Not just the children but our adult minds as well?

The women are doing it because they are getting paid to do it and the men perpetuate it because they are the ones supporting the behavior. Both sides are responsible and its pointing fingers is ridiculous.

EVERYTHING we watch and listen to on TV, or the radio etc is effecting how we learn and how we are teaching our children to learn.

SEX is good but it should be a private ordeal and not flashed in front of individuals who are to lame to go out and get their own......NUFF SAID!

I've got an idea........Shut off the T.V. and go outside. Do some yard work, mow the grass, tend to the garden, play fetch with the dogs............nude

As hung up as people are about nudity, it's a wonder that they even procreate at all.

Just because you don't see the reason behind a tradition, doesn't mean it's not there. The thought that mass public nudity wouldn't harm humanity seems to stem from not so good reasoning.

Naked News is just about the nicest way any young person could be looking at a naked female. Nothing sexual is going on. It is only the pleasing view of a naked female body.

Should we ban the classical paintings that show nudity? Should we ban the great sculptures that show nudity?
Of course not.
What we should ban is the fear of nudity.

Sexual exploitation like we see on car shows, tractor pulling, boxing, Lingerie football etc. should be banned.
And we should do the same with the BEEP on TV when somebody swears. We all know what they say (including the kids) and we should ban excessive swearing rather than swearing itself.

The Naked News women are not exploited. They look good (well - one or two of them do).

And for those who feel women are exploited against their will:
When a woman has spent a long time in front of the mirror fixing her looks. When she has put on a low cut shirt. When she wears revealing clothing. She knows exactly what she looks like. And it would be an insult not to savour the sight.
