Christianity is about what God did for us......

And of course what God did TO us.....
Like ordering us not to lie, then supporting liars (Ex. 1:15-20)
Like mingling with a perverse spirit (Isa. 19:14)
Like ordering people to steal (Ezek. 39:10, Ex. 3:22)
Like making false prophecies (Jonah 3:4. Gen. 5:10)
Like ordering his people to kill (Lev. 26:7-8, Num. 25:4-5)
God practiced injustice (Ex. 4:22-23, Joshua 22:20, Rom. 5:12)
God sanctioned slavery (Ex. 21:20-21, Deut. 15:17)
God punished children for the sins of their fathers (Ex. 12:29
God prevented people from hearing his word (Isa. 6:10, John 12:39-40)
God supports human sacrifice (Ex. 22:29-30, Ezek. 20:26)
God demanded virgins as a part of war plunder (Num. 31:31-36)
God sanctioned violation of the enemy's women (Deut. 21:10-14)
God required a woman to marry her rapist (Deut. 22:28:29)

There are many more, I grow tired of looking these up. Read your Bible, and I mean read it, and you can see what a cruel and jealous being this God of the Bible really is.

Oh stop lying, you didn't research any of those on your own!! You haven't read 1% of the Bible, you talking about the Bible is a joke. lol

Thanks for the laugh. Go dabble in some more anti-Christian websites. Anyone who thinks the God of the Bible is "cruel" is the village idiot and hasn't read it.

You read the Old Testament? You certainly rant on about it, and people's lack of knowledge regarding it.

Not only is that scripture abhorrent, disgusting and immoral, but it's sexist, racist and fascist.

And that doctrine doesn't even introduce burning to death for eternity.

Only when Jesus, the meak and mild is introduced is the concept of Hellfire preached to children.

"You don't accept Jesus or God? You can burn in hell" - What kind of a disgusting threat it that to propose to any adult, let alone any death-fearing child?

And it's your disgusting "faith" that has caused havoc for centuries, opressing people in many countries. In some countries only recently has it started to be subdued, but it many this it's still ripe.

"either" - LOL - Have you ever read or listened to any historians or philosophers who've criticised not only it's accurracy, but it's moral and ethical teaching?

I love how you admit, you've never read it - And yet, in this age of information and enlightenment, you still believe it's the word of God.

That the creater of all that is, would wait a mimimum of 100,000 years of human evolution, AND THEN decide to introduce a savior and absolve all human sin?

This is what you have to believe, if you are to believe the Christian dogma.....

Here's a question - Am i going to hell? Are non-believers going to hell? Do you believe this?

Another question and your answer may offend a few - Are humans born into sin? (Original sin)

According to the Bible, Earth is only around 5000 years old.
That is a lie. The Bible does not say that.

. The idea that humans were alive at the same time as dinosaurs is laughable.
Not true we have proof of this from archaeologist finds from around the world. Just research it and you will see.

The Bible also claims that if you pray for something, your prayers will be answered, but that's just a lie.
No thats our opinion.

Being punished for following the wrong religion is unfair and no logical, understanding, just God would do such a thing- There are dozens of religions out there, so how can a God punish me for not choosing the right one?
God said to worship him not a religion he never said anything about a right religion.

There is NO PROOF!- It sickens me that people devote their entire lives worshiping a religion that there is literally no proof to back up. It's complete blind faith, and it astounds me that people believe such a wild concept without even a shred of evidence other than a book. For anything to be taken seriously in the scientific or even the logical-thinking community, there must be evidence. Does this not apply to religion? Is there some double standard that prevents the invisible, omnipotent entity from being called into question?
Not true but we have a problem here. See i don't believe God exist i KNOW he does and i seen proof but the problem is there is no proof i can show. Then again why would there be?
Proof i could show you would only take away your free will to believe. And for many years of my life i was like you in fact i tried to tear apart every religion there was but because of my searches and what i have lived and seen i know the truth now. But tell me one thing please. How can you prove to me you love your mother/father/brother/sister/son and or daughter? If you can't prove this to me then you must not love them.

Near death experiences are used as evidence for the afterlife, but when a person dies massive amounts of '___' are released, which creates epic hallucinations. That bright light you're seeing that you believe to be heaven? Sorry to burst your bubble Johnny Pastor, but you're just hallucinating in your last moments of existence.

Sorry i can't buy that but only because not everyone sees "bright light " in fact others have been to "hell" as they tell it and that is from people who never believe there was a hell.

Oh and about the brain being dead = your dead thing well there was a Russian man who was dead for 3 days his brain was dead as well but he came back (it took months of rehab before he could move/walk again because the rigamortis from being dead 3 days)

Sorry forgot to add i respect your opinion and give you a star and flag.

LOL, this is usually the BEST it gets for replies from the bible supporter crowd in response to the rational folks who mention the bible's flaws.

As an ex-christian (for a LONG time devoted), I read the bible more than I'd like to admit and let me tell ya, IT REAKS OF NEAR TOTAL NONSENSE!!!!!!!

Sounds like it is YOU who havent done any reading. Its clear from your replies. But what more can be expected from the STILL-deluded folks I guess!!

Its 2011 WAKE UP from the DELUSION already!!

When people are interested in a discussion I'll oblige and give details, but certain folks who regular this forum are just here to mock, ridicule, and deny everything presented, and usually without reading most of it.

If that's the tone of the thread I don't bother. Sorry if that hurts your feelings, I don't want you to rage anymore with ALL CAPS. It's scary when u do that.

From many religious people I have talked to they all told me they believe that the earth is either 5000 or 6000 years old, so I kind of assumed it said that in the Bible, the same thing goes for prayer (Forgive my ignorance lol). And those archaeological finds that support the idea that humans and dinosaurs coexisted at one point don't explain how the same species of dinosaurs are found on separate continents which are now separated by oceans, plate tectonics which takes well over 6000 years explains that. The only possible way I could see humans and dinosaurs coexisting is not if dinosaurs were around much later than we believed, but instead humans were around much earlier than we believe.

And no you don't know God exists, you just believe he does. If you knew for a fact that he existed, he would exist, because for you to know something exists there would have to be physical evidence of its existence. You claim to have proof that God exists but you cannot prove it to me, so basically, you don't have proof. If you can prove it to yourself you should be able to prove it to others, otherwise it's just a belief. A book and strong faith is not enough evidence for me, I refuse to live my life blindly accepting a religion which there is no proof other than faith and stories to back up, and it astounds me that anybody else can. The only way anybody will know for a fact that God exists or not is when they die and experience death and the potential afterlife themselves. It doesn't matter what epiphany a person has had, if they've had children, had a near death experience, had a lucid dream where they talked to God, etc., none of this is proof that God exists. Can you elaborate on your experience that allowed you to "see the truth"? Because I would love to see this truth for myself.

And God is still saying that he is the right God to worship, so what if I worshiped Muhammed because I thought he was the right God? If I was raised to believe that he is the right God, then from my point of view that's who I should worship, and I don't see it as fair that I can be punished for doing what I think is right. And no I cannot prove to you that I feel love, it's a human emotion that all people experience, however this does not apply to religion, because somebody can 'feel' Muhammed just as easily as somebody can 'feel' God, so I don't really see the correlation here. Care to explain?

About the NDE's, I still believe that regardless of what the person is seeing, whether it's a bright light or hell, it's caused by the massive amounts of '___' that is released right before death. It's a chemical that makes people hallucinate before death, and they claim to see stuff ranging from bright lights to hell right before death, so put two and two together and logically the chemical released that makes people hallucinate is causing their visions. However I do remember a story where a boy was pronounced dead in a hospital, and was revived shortly afterwords, and he remembered floating up through the hospital and seeing a red shoe on the roof, and sure enough when they went up there the shoe was there. To be honest though that just sounds like one of those stories that floats around (Pun intended), you know? Also do you have a link to that Russian guy? That sounds pretty interesting.

"Worship me or burn for eternity!", oh yeah what a loving guy
.Those 2 million+ people he killed kind of say otherwise. Even if every single one out of the 2 million were the most maniacal, child hungry, cannibalistic rapists known to mankind, he still killed 2 million people regardless, so he's no saint in my book.

God never said none of it. Its a man made up book, with which to control people with. More murder rape and pillage in the bible than any porn/horror book. The only time we shall have peace on earth is when we send all you religious nutters to your god. Then we non believers can get on with life. With out some half wit claiming that his spirit in the sky, wants us to murder every one who dosnt believe in said spirit in the sky.

More insults.

Gotta love these Christians who don't act like Christ - rendering their non-provable fairy tales and claims to truth utterly backwards.

Argue for the "goodness" of religion > Don't act good.

ROFL.

Right I never said that I have read the Bible, so I don't know why you're so proud that you found that piece of information out of me. I was never hiding that or denying it, so you're getting a little excited over nothing big guy. And it does not matter if he directly stated that in the Bible, the belief is worship God or you will go to hell and burn for eternity. Supposedly God is the creator of everything, so he created hell, and created the punishment for not worshiping him, so if you do not believe in him you will go to hell, correct?
