The researchers used a virtual computer model, or "neural network," to simulate the excessive release of dopamine in the brain. They found that the network recalled memories in a distinctly schizophrenic-like fashion.

I'm sure this isn't new stuff and there has probably been some pretty close artificial copies of the brain for a while. The main questions raised for me when it comes to issues such as replicating human emotions, behaviour and thought processes, basically imitating life, are the following;

1. Is it ethical?

2. Wait, I'm stuck. I don't really know how to sum up this next question properly in text so I shall have to do it the best way possible. Do you think 'computer brains' could experience something like the injured guy in this video for the awesome Metallica song One?
