As George Carlin said, the world isnt going anywhere, we are the ones that are leaving. And even that is in doubt. Humans survived the Toba eruption, an ice age, countless plagues climate change, etc. And we are still here. Doubtless a large chunk of humanity is going to perish due to the things outlined, but there will be survivors. That is assuming our environment doesnt change so radically as to make human life impossible. We have to remember, on the scale of the earth, everything happens on a grander timescale. We may be experiencing the end of the world, but that end may take a couple of centuries. My gut instinct says if we survived the last glaciation, some of us, albiet a small group, will survive. One has to wonder if they will remember us, or will we become a lost civilization, and in 7000 years we will be right back to where we are now, with our decendents having no memory of our current world. And has this already happened before? If you have ever seen the series "Life after people", you realize how quickly all traces of us would disappear if our civilization collapsed.

I agree. I have a very long view of history, and by that I mean I think humankind & civilization are much, much older than conventional historians & scientists believe. Within this long frame of time, civilizations have risen to great heights and fallen -- to vanish without a trace that their descendants can recognize.

Why are they doing this to the people of this earth?

I think the answer lies in the definition of they, and the lack of humanity they possess,
and by lack of humanity, the possibility is that they are not human at all.

Do you think that in some boardroom somewhere, a bunch of dudes are rubbing their hands together, twirling their mustaches, and laughing maniacally as they concoct another "Evil Plan"? Of course there isn't. There is no "Illuminati" no "Brotherhood of Evil" or whatever else.

Do you have a can of Campbell's chicken noodle soup in your home? Most people do, so if you don't, just bear with me.

Inside this can of chicken noodle soup are carrots, pasta, often peas, and of course, chicken. The broth is made from chicken, onions, salt, "preservatives" and what have you. All of these are produced on a massive quantity. The grains and vegetables are certainly not likely to be local to your area, and just as certainly, they're grown with lots of fertilizers and -cides (fungicides, pesticides, weed killers, you name it) . Without a doubt, the chickens that laid the eggs for the pasta, as well as supplied the meat and carcasses for the soup and broth, were grown in filthy battery farms. The animals here are mutilated and conditions demand a constant diet of antibiotics and hormone treatments. of course, all their "unusables" end up flushed into the local sewer. Then all this stuff is packed into a steel, tin-lined and laminated can, wrapped with heavily-treated paper and glue, stacked into a box and covered with polyvinyl chloride plastic wrap, and shipped via truck to a central headquarters, where it's unpacked, re-packed, and shipped to your store, consuming who knows how much fossil fuel.

So to recap. We have animal torture, biological and chemical pollution on ENORMOUS levels (farming, agriculture, mining, and fossil fuel production), addition of toxins to the food supply (the "preservatives" and can laminates) and an enormous amount of wasted paper and fossil fuels.

Because you wanted a can of soup. Because picking that can of soup off the shelf at the store was just more convenient than picking up the composite ingredients and making your own soup or - let's get crazy - growing your own celery, carrots, and peas, raising and slaughtering your own chickens, and buying flour from the community mill.

American consumers have it in their heads that they have a god-given right to cheap and convenient merchandise. We do not. When your prices go down, someone else's cost goes UP. When things become easier for you, things become harder for someone else. That shirt at Wal-Mart is cheaper because they use slaves to make it. it's convenient for you to go to that Wal-Mart, but doing so contributes to putting your own neighbors out of business, and suppresses the wages of your other neighbors who work at that Wal-Mart.

These fourteen problems are simply things that we've brought upon our own heads by dint of our own stupidity and sense of entitlement. The only real tragedy is that, much as it was feared that our banks would take hte rest of the economy down if they failed, we in "the west" are going to take the rest of the world down with us when we go down, because we will not step in to protect a woman getting murdered in front of us, but we'll be god-damned if we'll let our cheap and easy lives of entitled convenience slip away from us.

Can subtract from this list number 10. Counterfeiting money? I believe we are already seeing a world where we will not have to carry cash. I do not carry more than $50 in my wallet and almost exclusively pay for everything with credit card. I do this to earn points and get money back....Not that I get a lot back but after I charge about $15,000 I get $100 gift card of my choice.

I also see a lot of places already not accepting cash and will only take debit and credit cards.

I haven't written a check in over 2 years because of online bill pay.

I would also like to add to the list the total retardation of society. It seems that the masses are becoming dumber by the day. I can see it in the youth who are more inclined to play video games, party and go on facebook instead of putting their bright, brilliant minds to work.

Today's youth should be some of the most intelligent to date and yet we do not see this.

Some of this is complete non-sense. Cash is always acceptable as a means of payment. It cannot be refused, in fact, because it is legally deemed to be money. (Look at this for yourself on any bill!) Even when you buy online, you can mail a money order if you want to. Some old fashioned people probably still do this because they think it's safer.

And there are plenty of very bright minds in this country if you would stop looking at the bad ones and look at the ones are who doing well. Imagine all the kids who do well in school and get scholarships.

Seeing only what you want means you will be deceiving yourself.

There are a lot of strange things going on these days and as we all know, 2012 approaches. It cannot be a coincidence.

why??? because the wealthy have determined that there are too many people using up valuable resources and the population needs to be reduced. and who needs to be done away with? the poor of course, because unlike in previous ages, the vast labor pools required for massive profits are no longer needed. they only want to keep the best educated and wealthiest around. they simply want more poor people to die, so the poor do not sponge off of them.

You are kidding right? after this is over, money will be worth nothing, and they will suffer what they caused.ç
Also, the average (note: average, not even wealthy) US citizen uses around 10 times the resources that one person actually needs., is not that there are too many people, is that a few moronic idiots just want more and more.
edit on 6/5/2011 by mbartelsm because: (no reason given)

You are naive. The Elite have always been several steps ahead of the masses. The plans we are now seeing unfold were laid down decades ago. The Elite have no intention of suffering, or paying for their crimes.

It's not that the average American is using too many of the resources to have a comfortable & convenient life, it's that there are too many people in the world. Voluntary birth control will not work in most places in the world. We have too many people, too many people with rising expectations, and shrinking resources.

Just think of how much pollution has been added to the world in just the last 20 years in places like China & India (both with populations of over a billion) -- now these people have enough money to drive cars & motorized cycles, etc.

For example, our 'amazing' Gov who just decides to print more money when they want to go to war..

It's being done on purpose. They want the US Dollar to collapse, so the Americans will accept a new currency.

8. I actually laughed at this, we've been genetically modifying plants and animals for thousands of years, take an agricultural history class. Wool in sheep for instance is actually an incredible recessive trait, grain has been modified since the earliest farmers, to increase their production, literally thousands of years ago. It's not something new, it may have accelerated but it isn't new, and by and large isn't unsafe.

Read "The Seeds of Destruction." What Monsanto has done is not the same thing as what you're talking about.

This reminded me of something I wrote some years ago -- that I felt that money in the form of cash was being phased out on purpose by the New World Order.

A cashless society is a tracked society. Every purchase you make with a card is tracked.

IQ is one type of intelligence though among very many. I bet if we average out all kinds of intelligence without bias we'd be surprised at how far we've fallen. Plus there's always bias to call into account. Are they IQ'ing people only at university (who have a predisposition for this stuff) or the population as a whole? Are they just going around asking people (because only people who enjoy puzzles may agree to do it, thus skewing it all)? etc.

I've read over some of that stuff, and you'd think with how much our "IQ's" are raising we'd not have people with 130+ being incapable of doing so many common things; let alone even thinking outside the box. Even in the science field all I see are one trick ponies that are just brain dead sheep and couldn't find their way out of a wooden house with a door. EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I've worked with brilliant minds that really make the general population look un-evolved, but they're rare.

I wish there was a universal kind of intelligence test, but then again-- I'd bet the results show our true colors... or rather decay for that matter.

Excellent point, IQ tests do not measure every type of intelligence.

Why are we so down on the Middle East? Chrisianity was born there. We take Jesus into our lives, call Him our saviour. We take Islam and call it our own, renaming it Church of England or Roman Catholic or any other Christian church you can name, and yet we condemn Jesus's birthplace.
A 15th reason could be that we dont live, breath and eat our beliefs, we are too busy condeming others to see our world is collapsing on itself. so now we think we are God, too ready to judge others .
Our new world will be one of unity where we live on one planet in like minds.
We will not play act at being God.

I'm not sure how your post is even connected with the OP.

Some might wonder why I would bother to respond to this, but I really feel the need to correct something:

"We take Islam and call it our own, renaming it Church of England or Roman Catholic or any other Christian church you can name, and yet we condemn Jesus's birthplace."

Where in the world did you get this tidbit?

Christianity was centuries old before Muhammad was born. Islam has only been around for about 1400 years.

May I recommend that you read "The Truth About Muhammad" by Robert Spencer.

We condemn Jesus's birthplace?

No one is condemning Jesus's birthplace.

I suggest that you do some research on Zionism & the birth of Israel.

hypoctryts rejoicing in the streets at the death of one man in Pakistan. its sickening.
very similar to the romans crucifying Jesus.
the start of chrisianity
Apocolypse.
the end of christianity.
Armageddon,
the fight between good and evil, who won last time? who will win this time?

maybe you should re-title the thread the collapse of modern america + canada dragged down for the ride because they want to be americans so badly.

the fact is the majority of europe, is happy and content. they have their culture, food and family. south america is rising. the standard of living is increasing everyday.

china is becoming an economic powerhouse. the mideast is tasting democracy and israel can't contain the pressure of military occupation any longer.

you had a good run of 65+ years, but the fact is america peaked late 50's and 60's. 70's were good and everyone lived the highlife during the mid 80's. but it's been going down hill ever since and it's picking up steam.

maybe the people should take a hard long look at it's politicians and spend the trillions of dollars on yourself, instead of foreign occupations and corporate oil theft. but the government spending money on it's people is called socialism. the dirtiest, evilest word in the english dictionary.

With that said; I fear some sort of civil war is on the brink, it's already starting with the many protests occuring, they will just continue, and once the people are tired of the brute force the law is using to silence them, no doubt there will be retaliation world wide..

It is inevitable..

It's allready happening and labelled "terrorism", ya know ;-)

A highly speculative reflection on my part is "not necessarily". Depends on how one utilizes the awareness of things. Being aware but still being part of the system, dependant of bankers, money, authorities and whatnot, I can't see it making much of a difference come the collapse (other than a couple of "I told you so´s" while wading knee deep in # alongside your more ignorant next of kin).
Another aspect I've been pondering is that it's highly possible that there will be, or is going on, or have already been, a transition from one "age", or whatever, to another, but cleverly masked it would be only a very few that would take notice. Reason for this, as I've been thinking about it, would be that TPTB do their workings on grand scales and it takes an ability to see really big pictures to really understand what's going on.
It dawned on me when I told a friend about the whole monetary system and what's been going on since the early 1900´s. He more or less dismissed the idea that what we are experiencing now is merely a part of a greater plot that's been going on for a long time and is set somewhere in the future to unfold. The dismissal was basically based on motive, he couldn't see the point in why people would partain in such long-going processes when they'd be long dead before reaping the fruits.
I tried to point out that some people actually work for causes bigger than themselves and that they have other motives than, say, the average Joe who opens his own hair-saloon and might hope to sell his business with a neat profit at retirement-day and be able to kick-back in a bungalow at some sweet spot on the planet.
He still really couldn't see the point and that's when I understood why most "conspiracy theories" seems so far fetched for most people. They can only connect a fraction of the dots, and naturally, it won't make any sense.
Now, add to that the dumbing down of the masses, instant rewards, the proved shortening of attention spans. Supposse you're only able to piece together/remember what you've seen the last ten minutes and watched a movie. At the end you would have no clue as to how and why things ended as they did, and that's exactly where most people are on a larger scale.

I think you are spot on with your assessment of IQ tests.
I've had mine tested a few times mensa and a couple of others, and always scored way above average 50 - 60 points.

Do I consider myself smart or clever ? Not in the slightest. A high IQ with a good education which I never had btw would make me clever.

I look back to when I started school and how you get treated if everything you learn is really easy in comparison to others, completely ostracised by everyone around you, and as a youngster thats not good. So what did I do ? In all seriousness I think I deliberately dumbed myself down to be conformist, and this was at the age of 6 or 7.

I can already see a few replies coming "yh but we've read some of your post's and there's no way you have an IQ that high JX".
at 6 or 7 this would have bothered me deeply

I think my point was going to be circumstance has much more to do with what happens in your life than spacial awareness, number sequencing, and word association etc skills could ever have.

Search for power and greed instead of love and understanding. This is the recipe that the Society enjoys to follow. Sad and dangerous.

But what good is power and money when the Earth is poisoned, the masses are dead or dying, the economy is collapsed and all that TPTB sought to rule has be destroyed? What's left?

Good question, and one for which most of us don't have a coherent answer. Chemtrails. "They have to breathe the same air as we do, don't they?" Toxic waste and radiation. "They have to eat the same food (more or less) and drink the same water as we do, don't they?" Yet, they act is if they're immune. Maybe they are. Or, maybe they know something we don't know. Like an approaching extinction level event...environmental collapse, Planet X, pole shift, coronal mass ejection, etc., take your pick. If they do know something "big" is coming, and there's nothing they can do about it (other than preemptively triggering disasters to better manage the outcomes), wouldn't the world look pretty much the way it looks today? As if they know their time is short, and somebody's hitting the panic button?
