I wonder how fast the inner wall spins at? And what kind of extreme forces create a plasma tornado at this magnitude. With a quick rough measurment it's in the range of 40,000 miles tall, or five(5) whole earths!?

FullHD for justice

If you don't watch our sun, you should. It is beyond amazing. Just to make sure you have it bookmarked, here is Helioviewer.

Paris Hilton sez..."That's Hot"

Sorry, couldn't resist...
(Ashamed to say that I'm 47 and know that)

On another note...WOW and thanks for sharing. I do watch the sun tho admittedly not as much as I should. I am usually over in the EQ mode.

But, I'll be paying a lot more attention to it now.

Thanx!

Dorothy would have been transported farther than Oz, with this one!

The twisting is very cool! First time I see this; then again, I'm no scientist of the sun.

I'll look at it again!

Holy hell!! Was that video showing at real time?!

If that was 4 earths high, then it appeared to be about 1 earth wide when it was spinning at what looked like it's fastest, near the end of the video. The speed of that spin must have been INCREDIBLE!!!

Awesome vid OP, thanks for sharing. S+F for you.

Light can travel around the Earth 7 times in one second. I can't imagine the forces behind such a monstrous twister.

Need a light?
