I'd like to see more of this, but its so edited that I cant see why he was arrested.

And I _DONT_ believe that he was arrested for simply having a pen.

he was shouting through a mega phone and writing on signs using about how
bad the royal family is.

Oh, I see, my apologies.

The fact of the matter is... Yes, as you mentioned, i'd like to see more of this video - but many people were arrested for non-crimes, many of whom had tried to get their names cleared before the event.

Seems like the Police weren't taking any chances.

It is against the law to protest the royal family in any way in England or advocate the abolition of the monarchy. That such a law can exist within the legal framework of englands law is a problem within itself. If Britons want to protest the royal family and think the monarchy should be abolished, then they should be free to put their thoughts into words.

Now violent action in an attempt to make your will prevail over that of the majority is a different matter.
