why would the great USA want to invade Russia or china ,in either case or combined their military forces combined would probably outnumber all the the us could muster by itself . what is there that they want. nothing.

maybe it is the MISTRUST in the US government that has them worried - if you are watching what the us is doing they are throwing their military might and weight all around the world . what are they really up to ? trying to start world war 3 just so that they can put all the people back to work after the fact that their own damn banks damn nearly collapsed the worlds economy .the worst part is that the great us has been blacklisted for loans as their credit rating is now worst than the MEXICAN PESO. great leadership .
all that the us is doing is protecting their supply of oil and they don`t give a damn about the mess that they are creating as corporate greed comes before everything else to them ,look at the meteoric rise in in oil prices in your own nation and world wide all over the fact that the us is trying it`s best to start it by threatening any nation that dares to upset their apple cart - this nation seems to think that they are gods warriors and the protectors of all -what a load of brain washing crap load of propaganda they are spewing to the world and it`s leaders.

the worst part of all this crap is that the great leaders of the so called free nations of this world is that they are all buying into it and preparing for #3 . look at the amount of cash that your northern nation allies is spending on arms and jets without motors from the states ,is this the us the same nation that sold us their Vietnam era guns that were unreliable crap that we had to spend all kinds of cash on to retro fit them just to make them work right .
hell it would have been cheaper to deal with mother Russia to buy the good old reliable kasmaklov and a lot cheaper.
#3 coming dec.24 2012 what a great day to start it as were all on holidays world wide -i guess no one is going to show up for it ,we are on holidays so don`t call us we`ll call you back later .

Russia? meh, I don't think so, but China? China will be the most likely winner of a war against the US, not only they have an army a lot bigger, but they also are the only ones in possession of weapons capable of defeating the US (aside from nukes). Plus North Korea will be one of the most likely allies of china, not because they like China, but because they hate America and North Korea is one hell of an adversary

There will be two likely factions, NATO and the hypothetical Asian Union (conformed by China, North Korea, probably Russia after the other two are together and a few other countries)

I just dont see how Any Nation could Invade the US Cities ..

I mean..just Detroit or LA..would be an impossible job for a land Invasion ( think of the man power to occupy a city like LA .. Not going to happen .. too many groups there.. same with other places around the US.. .. There would Not be a ground force Into the US !! not because the Forces will cut it off..but the Locals will !!

There is a Whole lots of peeps that your not accounting for ..like the General populace ..

They will not take such a ground troop Lightly ..

To my very limited understanding of the issue, the majority of the radiation fallout would hit the northern hemisphere. I don't think it's possible to wipe out 90% of the population from a nuclear war alone. If we go to war with China and Russia, I'm out! Going to South America, Australia, or New Zealand...

Most of the missles would be targeted at the northern hemisphere, but all areas would receive secondary effects. Think about the small amounts of radiation currently coming in from Japan, from one small leak. Now imagine the radiation from a couple thousand missles. This would likely cause a nuclear winter affecting the entire globe. There wouldn't be an escape from it.

@ Farmergeneral, My thoughts exactly, there's so many guns in the U.S. that occupation would be an impossibility, we have the weapons and the area to a make it highly difficult and deadly. Plus if I was the government my last act before being invaded would be to disseminate firearms to everyone, and give them whatever training they need to operate them.

Well, Japan is in the northern hemisphere...

I don't know the exact science behind it, but if the radiation starts in the northern hemisphere, the majority stays concentrated in that hemipshere. It's the same with major storms. They tend to form around the equator, and spin out from them. At which ever direction they deviate from the equator, they stay in this hemisphere. A hurricane spins one direction, and a cyclone spins another, blah blah blah...

But, I could be wrong.

dec. 25 th 2012 -what a great day to declare that we`e all broke .all the banks are closed world wide for the holidays ,and you can`t get at your cash as the banks will take it all to cover their thieving lying asses and you the people are broke . that is the day that all of these insurance companies that are supposed to insure your savings also go broke that day .and everything is forfeited to the state so that it can be turned over to the new owners . and it is not we the people nor is it our governments ,it is the worlds banks and governments of every other country that bought us all for a song and a dance as our governments don`t have a clue about money or finance -1% per month over how many years of debt compounded is unfathomable to most peoples way of thinking .

If you really did any studying of the worlds Military's Russia and China combined wouldn't have a chance against the US military. What is seen on the battlefields right now was designed in the 70's. I personally could only imagine what the US has now that is top secret.

Sure I understand they have a lot of numbers but this would be a nuclear confrontation one where both countries would get wiped off the map. I'm afraid it would be suicide for either of the two countries. They would be radioactive wasteland and they know it. So while for entertainment purposes the iranian scare tactic news article is simply blowing smoke.We would shoot their missles down A something they couldn't ever achieve and B russia and china hate each other and are more likely to fight very soon over resources.
